An ideal therapeutic relationship is one showing unconditional positive regard for the patient, as well as a strong client/counselor rapport from the beginning. As a practicing therapist, Briana’s objective is to provide a welcoming, comfortable environment for her clients, as well as show empathy throughout the process. Therapy is all about confronting and processing individual struggles, whether dealing with bouts of depression and anxiety or continuing stress and trauma. Seeking therapeutic services will help with personal understanding, acceptance, and reaching attainable goals.
Briana graduated with her B.A. in Psychology from The College of New Jersey, and later attained her M.A. at Adler School of Professional Psychology. At Adler, Briana earned her Master’s in Counseling Psychology and specialized in Rehabilitation Counseling. Briana is a trained and certified Rehabilitation Counselor which focuses primarily on individuals that have physical or psychological disabilities and are trying to attain independence.
Throughout Briana’s clinical experiences, she has worked in both individual and group counseling sessions with youth and adults. Briana likes to use an integrative approach to therapy, however, her primary theoretical orientation is a Cognitive Behavioral approach. Briana strongly believes this orientation can be very helpful when trying to focus and identify certain treatment processes and attainable goals. Briana has worked with a variety of ages and continues to gather knowledge on various topics in order to work with all groups of individuals. |
