I want to assist people in meeting their goals, finding solutions to their problems, and creating a better life for themselves. I believe an integrative approach is usually the most helpful approach when treating clients, as not everyone benefits from the same type of therapy. Most often I find that cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and interpersonal therapies work best; however, I will alter the treatment approach to what works for each individual client. I feel that it is important to empower every client and will often focus on their strengths as a part of the therapeutic process. I received my Masters degree (MA) and Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) from Argosy University-Schaumburg Campus. I have experience working in private practice and community mental health settings providing individual, group and couples therapy. I specialize in mood disorders and anxiety disorders and have experience working with children, adolescents, adults and geriatric populations. I also have experience in psychological testing with child, adolescents and adults. In my off time, I like to spend time with my husband and my cat, Cosmo, as well as my friends and family. My favorite pastimes are reading, watching movies and listening to music. Right now, it's mostly country, but I like to listen to many different types including rock and pop. I enjoy traveling to different places and learning about different cultures. |
