Practice Information
I am a mental health clinician here to help empower, guide, and support you to live the life you want to live. I believe in my heart and soul that it is never to late for anyone to make lasting change, heal old wounds, and develop new healthier patterns. I realize that coming to therapy can feel awkward, scary, and sometimes a bit overwhelming. I want you to know that I am someone that will take a non-judgmental stance, will listen, provide a neutral safe space, and respond with empathy and compassion. Together we can work collaboratively to create lasting change and maybe find some peace, answers, or new goals for your next chapter. I promise to be there for you every step of your journey.

Bio:
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT, 49746) as well as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC, 1730) in San Diego, California. I hold a Master’s Degree from Chapman University in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and I have worked in the social service field since 2004. I began my career in social services working with several non profits as an ABA therapist and a social skills aide primarily working with children on the autism spectrum and/or other behavioral concerns. During and after completion of my masters degree I worked as a clinician in several county mental health clinics facilitating partial day treatment groups, dual diagnosis programs, and acted as a crisis clinician with adult clients.

As your therapist I practice a holistic approach and feel that a mind and body connection is the first place to start in your wellness journey. By applying traditional cognitive and dialectical behavior therapy approaches we can address more challenging acute issues that are not allowing you to live a meaningful life. I specialize in treating children, adults and seniors, couples, and families. I treat depression, anxiety, and mood disorders and have a special focus with grief/loss, life transitions, trauma/PTSD, personality disorders, and substance abuse.

I continue to work as an outpatient primary therapist at Sharp Mesa Vista since 2011. I recently became an honored recipient of the 2017 Jim and Sally Haugh Spirit of Caring Award for excellence in clinical care.

I am a native San Diegan. When I'm not working, I'm practicing yoga, weightlifting, and spending time with my husband and playing with our very active (i.e. non stop) two boys and our very patient and understanding dog Ryder.
