Jamie believes in a wellness model of healing where holistic interventions have a place among psychological and medical interventions. She treats the whole person - body, mind, and spirit- and subscribes to the idea that we are constantly healing on many levels, regardless of whether or not a formal diagnosis has been made. She invites her clients to embark on a path of self-study, embracing exploration of who we are at the core of our being, diving deeply into a graceful evolution towards the true self.
Jamie graduated from Monmouth University with a Master’s of Science in Mental Health Counseling with a specialty in spirituality and wellness. Jamie works from a humanistic perspective, and believes that a strong client/counselor relationship is the foundation for healing. As a counselor, she employs existential theory, motivational interviewing, positive psychology, mindfulness practices, breathing techniques, meditation, yoga, visualizations and guided relaxation in her therapeutic sessions. She is honored to be a fellow traveler on each client’s healing journey, and has worked with clients diagnosed with bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, OCD, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, infertility, trauma, cancer, and chronic pain.
Jamie also holds multiple certifications in therapeutic yoga, and specializes in brining yoga to unique mental health populations. She has offered yoga at substance abuse treatment centers, a residential treatment center for at-risk adolescents, an integrative therapeutic high school, as well as intensive outpatient settings, and runs specialty groups on yoga for anxiety and depression. |
