I have experience working at both in-home and outpatient agencies with individuals, couples and families of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds. I believe that the client knows best; as such I follow a client-centered approach to therapy. With my guidance, we develop goals and treatment plans together. My primary objective is to provide clients with a respectful and safe environment that helps them assess, learn and improve their quality of life. Although each client’s treatment process is different, I believe that relationships and personal environments are key factors in understanding a client’s wellbeing. Accordingly, my approach to treatment is heavily influenced by Family Systems Therapy. I also utilize aspects from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based approaches. When dealing with children and young adolescents, I use a tactile approach that includes Art and Play Therapy. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family (including my two rescue animals), reading, traveling, trying new restaurants and watching new shows on Netflix. |
