I previously worked as a Youth and Family Therapist at a Residential Treatment Center, where I specialized working with teenaged girls from 12-18 years of age. I worked with many various disorders and challenges, including mood disorders, personality disorders, social impairments, sexual deviancy, sexual trauma, and eating disorders. Approach to Therapy: My approach to therapy is to meet the client where they are at. Making the decision to come to a therapist’s office can be very daunting. I want my client to feel that they are in a safe place to discuss their needs for therapy. I tend to use a mixture of Narrative Therapy and Solution-Based Therapy, which allows the client to share their story and where they are at in their lives, while still stayed focused on the main issues and problems at hand. I also include other modalities, as a client will benefit from them, including sand tray therapy, play therapy, art therapy, experiential therapy, and meditation. |
