Practice Information

Play & Thrive Speech Therapy is a family-centered speech and language therapy practice, with a focus on supporting children’s needs through play. From helping pre-verbal toddlers with their first words to helping older elementary learners with inferencing and summarizing, all children learn best when they feel connected and engaged. We are located in the Bay Dale shopping center, with easy access to US-50 and Ritchie Hwy. We are located on the second floor, above Rise-Up Coffee and Bay Hills Eyecare. Our two offices have adult, child and floor level seating, adjustable lighting levels and gross-motor sensory equipment. Play & Thrive Speech is proud to provide teletherapy via Ambiki (æmbɪki), a platform designed by and for therapists. The Ambiki therapy room is secure, does not require an account or log-in information, and uses the same link for each session. Integrated games and apps make it easy to engage even our youngest learners.

Bio:

After starting my career as a Spanish teacher, working in both the public and private school setting, I went back to graduate school for Speech Language Pathology after the birth of my oldest child. I worked in the school system in Texas and Maryland before the pandemic sent everything virtual. The virtual world turned my life on its head and I couldn't be more thankful. We started homeschooling my unruly trio in the fall of 2020 and turned to teletherapy as a permanent option later that year. I love working with students across time zones, making connections even when we can't high five quite the same as before. Homeschooling has made me a more thoughtful and conscious parent, and has informed how I support families in their efforts to help their children thrive.
