I have a passion for helping others learn that their past does not define who they are today or who they will be tomorrow. I believe that change and rehabilitation may seem impossible to many, yet both are possible when they are really wanted. I understand how life and environments can become a routine, a pattern, and sometimes an unhealthy cycle. My goal is to help you break this repetition by rediscovering your strengths, values, and core beliefs. I have experience working with individuals, families, children and adolescents and have done group counseling and rehabilitation for reducing adult offender recidivism. I use several different techniques including Reality Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
I am licensed by the state of Texas as a professional counselor. I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Forensic Psychology from Kaplan University and a Master of Arts Degree in Professional Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University. I have worked in mental health clinics such as inpatient and outpatient, university counseling centers, court mandated counseling centers, and private practice. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, watching movies, reading, playing tennis, traveling, and eating out and trying new places. |
