How Toxic Is Your Relationship?

How Toxic is Your Relationship?
Going Green for a Healthier Partnership
B. E. Thompson, M.A.

Working with couples over the years in my clinical practice, it became apparent that many couples loved each other, but over time relating felt burdensome, heavy and lifeless. And oftentimes, in trying to communicate, there are many misfires. What I have concluded is that over time, even after only a year or two into the marriage/relationship the air, space, and energy between couples becomes clogged, steal, and toxic.
With all these environmental elements piling on top of your relationship, unbeknownst to you, no wonder the relationship seems, at times, “dull” and lifeless, feeling like you are just going through the motions day-after-day; and your home isn’t the sanctuary it should be!
When your relationship is in the humdrums, you don’t need “time apart.” It isn’t distance that you need, quite the contrary. It’s healthy togetherness! Your relationship needs to breathe to bring it back to life. You and your partner are the vessels of your relationship and love. Nurture it. Cleanse the toxins away!
Sometimes all YOUR RELATIONSHIP NEEDS is a little maintenance in an un-cluttered and stress-free environment. And what better time than during the holidays, a weekend, or “sick” day to get your motors going again and your minds cleared since it’s you and your partner that drives your relationship; and it’s the health of the relationship that keeps it alive and serving your emotional, sexual, and, yes, spiritual needs as well.
At your nearest wellness spa or home created spa, you can escape together for a private mini-retreat for two! You can detox/cleanse, stretch (yoga), practice mindfulness (mediation), have a couple’s massage and shut out the world, if only for a spell, and bring the magic back in and out of the bedroom.
You can’t be stressed, if you are in the moment. Make staying in the moment easier with a brief or a full-day spa experience! A healthier body and mind makes a healthy relationship that serves you and you partner.

A healthy relationship helps you live better than well!
