I have 3 decades of experience, teaching, mentoring, coaching and consulting on organization and executive leadership. I combine my knowledge of behavioral sciences with extensive corporate experience. Coaching individuals has been a major aspect of my practice. Another focus of my career has been in working with individuals and groups providing leadership development through self-awareness and change processes to effect improvement in one's leadership.

I am a licensed clinical social worker and I truly look forward to working with you. I work with individuals and families coping with a variety of concerns, whether that is a recent transition in their life, an experience of grief or loss, relationship distress, or simply a desire to better understand yourself and gain balance in your emotional life. Additionally, I specialize in working with women and their partners throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period and all of the complexities in between. I also take a particular interest in working with early childhood mental health. I utilize my experience and training to work with young children though play therapy and partner with their parents to gain insight into their child's experience and promote social and emotional well-being. My therapeutic approach is grounded in a strengths based perspective, which means we will look at your strengths and work towards using your strengths to make desired changes in your life. I also utilize a psychodynamic understanding of individuals to guide my work. This understanding will assist us in exploring how your life experiences may have shaped your decisions, emotions, and relationships. Additionally, through my training I have developed an understanding of mindful practice and how it can lead to a self-awareness and a positive approach to our own emotions, our own life and our own happiness.

Clients often pursue counseling because of specific issues or because life has become more stressful and difficult as their previously used coping skills begin to fail. Past issues, losses, traumatic events, and present day transitions factor in to create struggles and issues that need to be worked through successfully. I believe that in working together as a team to find new, more constructive coping skills, the client can move from just surviving to actually thriving in their day-to-day environments, finding contentment, peace, and joy in and from life once again. I employ play therapy in my work with children as young as three years of age, as well as the use of other psychoeducational and therapeutic activities with adolescents, adults and families to help them make the needed changes. I am also Board Certified as a Professional Christian Counselor and incorporate Grace-Based Biblical Counseling in my work with families.
