Powell, LCMHCS. is to reduce human suffering in a time- and cost- efficient manner, by utilizing “Best Practices”. I specialize in treatment of children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families emotional problems and addiction issues. My treatment approach incorporates family systems, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), solution-focused, client-centered, trauma-focused therapy such as EMDR and other evidence-based practice therapeutic interventions. I have special interest in working with individuals struggling with depression, grief, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem, , ADHD, anger,ethnic and gender-related issues, personality disorders, and other work and interpersonal-related issues. My specialty is helping couples struggling with a host of relationship problems relating to communication, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, lack of intimacy, and personality differences, and incompatible expectations. My practice mostly serves active duty members, retirees, veterans, and their dependents. I am familiar with the military way of life since I am a veteran myself and is married to a retired service member.
