Board Certified Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Levine is one of the only Board-Certified Clinical Psychologists in Los Angeles within a 5-mile radius of zip code 90210 (Beverly Hills) there are ONLY 12 Clinical Psychologists holding Board-Certification and Dr. Levine is one of them. In addition, he also holds additional Board Certification in Biofeedback Therapy. He came to California from New York in 2011, where he was the Chief of the Psychology Department at South Nassau Hospital and was also a Professor of Psychology at a division of the State University of New York. He completed a 2-year Post-Doctoral Fellowship in cognitive-behavioral therapy at the prestigious Temple University Medical School in Philadelphia and has also worked as a Clinical Psychologist and OCD specialist for the hit TV series "Hoarders" on the A&E Network. Currently, Dr. Levine serves as a Clinical Psychologist and Biofeedback Therapist at the UCLA School of Medicine.

Dr. Levine has published scores of peer-reviewed scientific research papers in the field and has special expertise in biofeedback therapy as well. While serving as the Chief of the Psychology Department at a large general hospital in NY, he supervised Psychology interns and residents. He is exceptionally well-trained and has years of experience. If you feel that your personal issues and concerns deserve the assistance of a highly experienced Psychologist (not a marriage counselor, social worker or other non-psychologist therapist) who has been awarded the highest professional credential that a Psychologist in the United States can earn (Board-Certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology or ABPP) then you need look no further.

During his more than 25+ years of practice as a clinical psychologist in New York and his practice here in California since 2011, Dr. Levine personally treated and supervised the treatment of hundreds of people with the widest array of conditions and problems. No matter what your issues and concerns, it is almost certain that Dr. Levine has treated many others with the exact same type of difficulty as yours. Rather than placing yourself and your life issues in the hands of an inexperienced, young and untested "psychotherapist" of some other profession, consider the potential value of insisting upon a seasoned, experienced and renowned Board-Certified Clinical Psychologist like Dr. Levine. Did you know, for example, that the title "psychotherapist" is not even a licensed mental health profession in the State of California? It is simply a word that describes anyone who claims to offer psychotherapy. Read through some of the profiles that you find here and make an informed decision based upon the best information you can obtain.
Bio
As you look through this long list of various types of "therapists", "counselors" and other mental health professionals, it is wise to consider the difference between them and an actual "Psychologist." It should also be of interest to consider where the Psychologist obtained their Ph.D. degree. Specifically, whether the university they attended is an APA (American Psychological Association) Accredited program or not. The APA makes site visits and determines which doctoral programs in clinical psychology deserve APA accreditation. You might be surprised to learn that some Psychologists licensed in California failed to graduate from an APA-Accredited program.

It's your life and your emotional well-being that is at stake and a little fact-finding can help you find out what you deserve to know about the person in whose hands you are placing your trust. You are entitled to know whether your Psychologist graduated from a first-rate accredited university Ph.D. program, whether they have earned Board-Certification in Clinical Psychology (the nationally-recognized and most highly respected credential in clinical psychology), if they have received hospital-affiliated clinical experience, how many years they have been in practice and whether they just began seeing patients right out of graduate school or first completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship and if it was completed at a teaching hospital or medical school.

Simply a very warm and wonderful psychologist. I was lucky my internist referred me to him. That's it, just a great guy who helped me more than I can say. A+ in my book!

Highly recommend this doctor. I was very uncomfortable thinking about discussing my personal issues with someone I didn't know. But Dr. Levine was actually very easy to talk to and made me relaxed. I didn't want to see a therapist who was just out of school and get used as a guinea pig. I didn't make a mistake. This doctor is clearly very experienced and competent. He helped me a lot and I can't say any more than "thank you" if he reads this. A great person and great doctor.
