Bio
Who is Dr. Oliver?
Martin W. Oliver II was fortunate to be raised in sunny San Diego, California as the first-born son of a US Navy Submariner’s family. After high school, Martin went on to work for Scripps Institute of Oceanography. You could always find him at work except when he snuck away to surf the beautiful waves of La Jolla, California... or to just walk the white sandy beach enjoying the sun!
With an acceleration of the Vietnam War, Martin in 1966 joined the United States Air Force. He was technically trained in intelligence at Kessler AFB in Biloxi, Mississippi. Dr. Oliver served honorably for 4 years, principally at an Air Nautical Chart and Information Squadron at Hickam AFB, Pearl Harbor.
After discharge, Doc put his nose to the grindstone with studies at Monterey Peninsula College in oceanography, chemistry, physics, astronomy, math and biology. He fully intended to go back to work for Scripps Institute of Oceanography which just happened to be located at his favorite surfing beach, La Jolla Shores, California. Now you can see how he thinks!
Much to everyones surprise, 2 years later, Martin saw the "light" and heard the "call" of God on his life. With the new enlightened viewpoint he transferred to Holy Word Bible School AKA Bible University and then enrolled in Bible Theological Seminary both formally located in Monterey, California. When the dust finally settled over Oliver’s education, he had completed a BA, MA, and PhD in Industrial Organizational and Clinical Psychology, Marketing/Sales and Theology. During his education Oliver simultaneously worked in business and construction.
Since 1978 Martin has been a Management Consultant at his own company, Dr. Oliver’s Consultations. Over the years Martin served clients and companies in 19 industries in positions such as:
CEO/President, Chief Counselor, Vice President, Editor, Director, Manager, and Registered Representative.
Over 33+ years he has worked in: Professional Counseling, Marketing/Sales ($5 billion in major infrastructure projects marketed and sold to Latin America in 7 years), Organizational Development, Change Management, Business Development, Instructional Design, Publishing, Business Trend Forecasting, Financial Analysis, Workforce Assessments, and Corporate Training.
Doc Oliver is happy to be married to his loving wife Diane for 36 years and has 2 grown sons: Joshua & Austin.
