Lea Roussos, LMFT
Mindfulness Based Therapy to Change the
Messages in Your Brain!
I have been in private practice for over 12 years and specialize in eating disorders. I also see couples and families as well as children and adolescents.
In the past few years I have incorporated mindfulness meditation as part of the tools that I give clients in treatment. The client is the expert on their life and I try to facilitate their recovery by helping them to use their strengths. The mindfulness meditation has been proven to help change the neuronal firing in the brain and create a more integrated mind to challenge previous trauma. I believe that everyone can have a more joyful and positive life by learning to focus on the moment to moment experience without judgment.
The more that the individual, myself included, can learn to appreciate their life the more they can experience life more fully.
Education/Training

Bio
I have been in practice for 12 years. Although I specialize in eating disorders, I also treat children, adolescents, couples and families going through all types of life challenges. I feel privileged to work in this field because I have the opportunity to help clients make changes in their lives. It is important that the client feel a personal connection with the therapist since most of the work is about the relationship and feeling safe in the room. My goal is to facilitate this process so that the client can move forward and gain the insight and tools to move forward in their life.
