I Can Help You!
Rochester Therapy
“I see success every day with my clients. I see a reduction in stress, the ability to manage emotions and gain insight into various behaviors. In addition to my private practice, I provide therapy and crisis services at The University of Rochester Medical Center and Rochester Rehabilitation Inc. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have worked with many different personalities. I can help you. There is not one type of therapeutic approach that is appropriate for all situations; there are many different types of therapies and styles of therapy that work to help people move closer to their goals.
I specialize in Psychodynamic therapy, processing current and past experiences and gaining a deeper understanding as to how this affects your present behaviors and feelings. I use Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral therapy to give you education and deeper understanding about your behaviors and emotions.
I have over 20 years of experience in therapy and Social Work. I have extensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy with a focus on Mindfulness, distress tolerence, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.
Education/Training
In the course of my work as a psychotherapist and mental health counselor for over twenty five years, I have often been gratified to see clients obtain benefit from a new way of understanding an issue or conflict with which they often had for many years; sometimes for their entire lives. I am pleased when clients are able to take in new information that challenges long-standing negative ideas or beliefs about themselves and their lives. Often, these significant moments occur in the context of a psychotherapy session. In addition to my work as a private psychotherapist, I provide therapy and crisis services at The University of Rochester Medical Center as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Bio
I have worked with many different personalities and feel that we all strive for peace of mind, calmness, success, and a feeling of connection. I often use mindfulness and focused attention as an approach that has been effective with giving you a feeling of balance and a sense of control over your emotions. There is not one type of therapeutic approach that is appropriate for all situations. There are many different types of therapies and styles of therapy that work to help people move closer to their goals. As a trained therapist, I am knowledgeable about different styles and which is appropriate for which situation.

Do you feel sad or anxious? Are you struggling with understanding how your thoughts are effecting your emotions? Are you wishing you could wake up and feel peace instead of stress and wishing you had control to make choices that bring you peace? Reaching out to a therapist takes courage and strength. I use a variety of treatment modalities including psychodynamic, cognitive and mindful modalities. We all struggle at times and it takes courage to take the first step to ask for support.

I provide a warm, nurturing environment. In addition I am Intensively Trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. My specialties include working with clients who have difficulty managing their emotions and behaviors. I am affiliated with the University of Rochester as a part-time Psychiatric Crisis Social Worker.

Together with my clients, I work to create an environment that facilitates an understanding of your strengths and the ability to see these strengths as you work towards a greater feeling of peace. My approach is direct and open, warm and understanding.
