I was dealing with a shoulder injury that had severely reduced my range of motion - I was no longer able to put my right hand behind my back nor could I lift my arm much higher than my shoulder. This was a real concern, beyond being very uncomfortable, since I'm a massage therapist and my body (especially arms) is my tool. I'd had serious lower back pain for years, and was wearing a back brace at least 10 hours a day just to get through life. (The pain was so severe I could not even bend down to pick up a dropped pencil without hanging on to the desk and slowly getting on my knees.) For two years I'd tried doctors, several chiropractors, rehab, acupuncture by an MD, and Swedish massage, among other things, none of which gave me any lasting relief.
