Pain, Postural Dysfunction and Stress
WHY MASSAGE & MOVEMENT TRAINING?

Our “convenient” modern lifestyle has resulted in a country full of Americans trying to cope with body “dis-ease” resulting from stress, including digestive problems, muscle tension and pain, headaches, joint pain, sleep disturbances, fatigue, chest pain, high blood pressure, asthma, shortness of breath, and weight problems.

Research proves that massage and exercise are essential to combating the effects of stress.

• According to the American Massage Therapy Association, massage has been shown to reduce blood pressure and heart rate; increase immune response; increase lymph flow and reduce edema; relieve and reduce certain types of back pain; reduce anxiety; and, relieve stress!

• The Mayo Clinic confirms that exercise improves mood; combats chronic diseases like heart diseases, type II diabetes, and osteoporosis; manages weight; boosts energy; and improves sleep.

Balancing your body’s alignment and teaching it to function from an optimal posture can reduce and eliminate those symptoms of stress naturally.

At BodyWorks "Massage & Movement", we integrate orthopedic assessments, hydrotherapy, various massage techniques, active isolated stretching (AIS), proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), and corrective stretching/exercise instruction to get positive results.

I am a native Missoulian with a passion for healthy living, and that's what led me to pursue a career in Massage and Personal Training. Having had multiple massage therapy sessions with Siene I can say that she is a highly knowledgeable and effective therapist. She has a sense and ability to find the source of the problem. She takes the time to treat not only an area that you may be feeling pain or tension but to figure out what other areas are related to and the potential cause of your problem. She also has the experience and knowledge of personal training and combines this with massage to provide a treatment plan that goes far beyond a short term effect and can help you to become aware of the areas you need to strengthen your body and provide you the proper guidance to do so. She's great and what she does works.
