EMDR Therapist for Trauma, Anxiety & Dissociation

Sometimes the hardest part of what we carry is feeling like no one truly sees or understands what’s happening beneath the surface. You may be struggling with shame, guilt, disconnection, intense emotions, or patterns that feel difficult to change. You may understand what you want to do differently, but still find yourself responding in ways that feel outside of your control. I work with clients navigating trauma, including sexual trauma and abuse, dissociation, shame and guilt cycles, and the lasting impact these experiences can have on how you see yourself and relate to others. My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and focused on helping you understand yourself rather than judging or trying to “fix” the parts of you that developed for a reason. I incorporate Parts Work, EMDR, and DBT to help clients develop a deeper understanding of their internal world. We may explore the different parts of you that hold fear, anger, shame, protection, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or other emotions and responses. Rather than fighting against these parts, we work toward understanding what they are trying to communicate, what they may need, and how they have helped you cope. As you build a stronger relationship with your parts, you can begin to recognize patterns, respond to yourself with greater compassion, and develop practical tools that support both you and your parts. We’ll work together to find strategies that feel realistic and helpful, while creating more space for you to feel grounded, present, and connected to yourself. Therapy isn’t just about learning how to manage difficult emotions in the moment. While building coping skills is an important part of our work, we can also look beneath the surface to understand where these patterns come from. Through trauma-focused work, including EMDR, we can begin addressing experiences at the root and explore how they may still be influencing the way you feel, respond, and relate to yourself and others today. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can feel genuinely seen and understood while developing a deeper relationship with yourself. Together, we can make sense of what you’ve been carrying, honor the parts of you that have worked hard to protect you, and begin creating new ways of moving through life that feel more connected to who you are.

NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS Neuropsychological evaluations are a crucial component in understanding the complex relationship between the brain and behavior. These comprehensive assessments delve into cognitive abilities, emotional functioning, and behavioral patterns to provide valuable insights into an individual’s neurological strengths and weaknesses. By examining various cognitive domains such as attention, memory, language, executive functions, and visual-spatial skills, neuropsychological evaluations offer a comprehensive understanding of an individual’s cognitive profile. This understanding is vital for accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and developing targeted interventions as well as serving as a baseline assessment, allowing for monitoring of cognitive changes over time. Ultimately, these evaluations play a pivotal role in optimizing outcomes, guiding interventions, and improving the overall quality of life for individuals facing neurological challenges.
