The Humanistic approach has and continues to be the form of therapy that most closely matches my sense of the world and how human beings exist within it. Based on the fundamental concept of the power of human growth, it speaks to me of hope, of personal power, of the ability for each of us to change ourselves and our world into someone or something that we can experience differently. It seems to me that it takes courage to try to change things that matter to us - which is why I believe the therapeutic relationship is so valuable.

At this time I have a full caseload and am unable to assist new clients. I will update this message as space become available. Thank you. Have YOU decided it is time to take control of your life? Have you felt that your mind is overwhelmed, .. and have had trouble making sense of the chaos that surrounds you.. that gets in the way from you making solid decisions and even can keep you up at night. Things can be so difficult.. and for that YOU need someone that can be a kind, thoughtful and non-judgmental that WILL give a listening ear.. and guide you when you are ready to MOVE FORWARD. I am a person that strives for peace.. and is why I have over a decade of experience, helping others to sort through the troubles and conflicts.. in a world.. that may seem, more often than not.. on the attack. A world that can leave one feeling stripped and bare..with no more than an old, wrinkled shirt to put on and hurry through another mind-numbing, mentally and emotionally taxing day. At Wise Mind. LLC.. my focus is to give you the tools to own your world.

The truth of what is essential to know, you are whole just as you are, and you do not need to be,fixed. You may have been through unforgettable experiences such as Systematic oppression, racism, homophobia that created the belief you are not good enough or that you are less then enough. All of these untruthful messages get internalize and often become the story of your inner critic. This builds an even stronger falsehood. What is wrong with me? This health crisis can stir up past past trauma or create new shock waves of uncertainty. Therapy will expand your capacity to cope and ignite your sense of hope. Hope has the power to build resilience and support mental health even in difficult times. I am now doing exclusive tele health session. I use a HIPPA compliant platform it offers a secure client portal.

Empathic, Non-Judgmental Therapy for Adults
Individuals and Couples
I believe that everyone encounters periods in their lives when they can use the guidance and support of an empathic therapist. When I work with clients I am respectful of where they are in their lives, and I strive to provide them with the insight, tools and skills they need to move forward effectively and productively. The basis of the client-therapist relationship is confidentiality. It's important for a client to feel safe within the four walls of my therapy office when talking about very personal issues. Clients can expect me to respect their confidentiality to the fullest extent possible, and to be honest with them about my policies and procedures so that there are no surprises. For example, at the outset of therapy I explain to clients that there is one exception to confidentiality, and that is where I perceive there to be child abuse. In those cases, I am mandated by law to report the situation to authorities.

Holistic Therapist, Looking Forward to
Challenging Cases from People Needing My Expertise
I am a holistic therapist, looking forward to challenging cases from people needing my expertise. Making use of a wide variety of therapies, from verbal to non-verbal, devoting much time on each of the select cases I take, and engaging in colleague consultations, I am often able to help with even the most difficult of issues. I also see children, doing family therapy even for the toughest kids. You'll see the difference family support makes, rather than my just trying to "fix the kid". I often begin with symptom-focused behavioral counseling to attempt rapid symptom improvement. When people stay beyond that brief initial period of basic counseling, we move into long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy to find and remedy the problem’s root cause. I encourage people to call me and we can talk about what your particular issues are and how I will be able to help you out. Or, if there is something I can't help you with, I will help you find the best regional expert for your issue.

Individual and Couples Therapy
The amount of training I have is what differentiates me from other psychologists. I believe in meeting someone where they are at and do so by drawing from a wide range of types of interventions. I treat clients from young children and adolescents to adults and couples. Parenting, stress management, relationship issues, ADHD, anxiety and depression are my specialty areas. Individual Therapy Through developing a warm and trusting relationship, we will utilize your strengths to help you learn more effective ways to cope with life’s struggles, feel more in control of yourself and your life, and improve your connections with others to get your needs met. We will begin to understand and heal your pain in a way that is tolerable in order to change underlying patterns of behavior. You will learn concrete strategies to manage feelings so that you do not become overwhelmed. Often people come in due to an inner critic that is costing them their joy. If this describes a big part of your inner struggles, you will learn how to stop your internal judge and fear of judgment from others from running and ruining your life. Frequent areas addressed in individual therapy: Relationship Issues Considering or Adjusting To Separation/ Divorce Stress Reduction Depression or Loss Issues Self Esteem Issues Anxiety and Sleep Problems Addiction Trauma Anger Management Issues Career issues and changes LGBT issues Finding the right couples therapist is key given you are ready to work on one of the most central relationships in your life. Some conversations are easier to have with help, especially if you want them to go differently or they are on sensitive topics. My focus is on creating a safe space so you can learn new strategies to work through problems together effectively, learn how to be less reactive, and gain perspective on your relationship. Whether you are choosing to find a way back to each other if there has been a rupture in the trust, save your marriage or find a way to separate amicably, handle a divorce, or just need help finding your way through a transition or parenting issues, I can help! If your relationship has become more of a business relationship than an intimate one, you will learn how to increase your passion for each other again. I have been extensively trained by John Gottman, as well as by Toni Herbine Blank, and work with both heterosexual and homosexual couples. I feel privileged to see the tremendous benefits couples enjoy when they are committed to making changes. Frequent areas couples seek help for include: Communication Increased Connection Appreciation and Support Infidelity Parenting Issues Financial Stress Anger Management Sexual Intimacy Assistance with Life Transitions (premarita

Psychotherapy with individuals and couples
I see therapy as a collaborative relationship that involves compassion and challenge. I actively engage with people to help them move through places where they are stuck in their lives. This may involve letting go of past hurts, learning loving kindness, developing skills and agency for living, and being able to play and experience joy. Each therapy is unique: it is devised to facilitate living a full, creative, and meaningful life. I work with individuals and couples. I am very helpful working with people in life transitions: Addressing blind-spots in current work situations that connect to unresolved historical issues; ways in which people are stuck regarding relationships, for example, compromising themselves because of an old and limiting version of their sense of self that is not true and leads them into unsatisfying relationships. I understand the importance of these aspects of people’s lives. I create a safe space for people to learn about themselves and experience themselves authentically.

Get to the Real Issues and See Results!
Many of my clients have tried talk therapy and found that they had limited results. That's because most issues reside in the subconscious mind, and simply discussing the problem is a conscious mind activity. I help clients access subconscious material directly through experiential methods that include EMDR, EFT, Hypnotherapy and Gestalt therapy. Many clients find that these methods work quickly and effectively to access and begin to transform unwanted beliefs and patterns. I work intuitively and encourage my clients to enhance their own intuitive sense, learning to listen to and trust their own inner wisdom. As a Certified Life Coach, I sometimes work with clients to create the life they always wanted and to learn to fulfill their life purpose. I take Blue Cross / Blue Shield, Tufts, United, and Harvard Pilgrim. Out-of-pocket charges are $120 per session.

Health mind. Healthy Family.
Treatment is results oriented, which means we work together at the beginning to define the changes that are meaningful to you. In a basic sense, psychotherapy is for thinking about feelings. We are all part of systems, be they family, work or society. The outcome is more freedom to be yourself. With children, treatment approach is family-centered. In the long run, the best therapist for your child is you, the parent. Parent consultation is an integral part of treatment for children and teens. Play space, art therapy and parent observation available. Psychological testing and family meetings are options. In Couples Counseling or Marital Therapy the patient is the relationship. In couples treatment, i thoughtfully guide your interactions to encourage better understanding of each other. This approach reduces the tendency to blame one another for differences, and leads the two of you into your own manner of accepting them. Pet-Assisted Therapy (PAT).

I’ve been a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Massachusetts since 1988, working with individuals, couples, families, groups, and veterans. Our relationship can begin with an initial free phone consultation. Sessions are 45 minutes. During our initial meeting, we set goals, determine approximately how many sessions might be needed, and decide what type of therapy would be most effective. My hobbies include yoga, biking, and creating stone and rock sculptures.

My approach to counseling is collaborative in that I enter into a partnership with my clients rather than maintaining the distanced stance of an expert. My view is that each person contains within them all of the resources necessary for healing and transformation and that my role in the relationship is to help them to see and actualize these strengths. The expressive arts are an incredibly useful aid in this process of self-understanding and the techniques I have been developing can also serve as tools of coping and adaptation as well. My training enables me to integrate the arts into traditional counseling practices in a way that supports and deepens the healing process. I have worked with clients struggling to overcome a wide range of issues in their lives including depression, anxiety, domestic violence, trauma, grief and loss as well as more the more general challenge of life transitions. I have been continuously amazed at the resilience of the human spirit and the power of the therapeutic relationship as a vehicle for navigating the waters of the unknown. These difficulties can be our greatest teachers if we consider ourselves worthy of happiness and I am committed to using my own strengths of compassion and a deep understanding of human nature to help people find their way along this path.

Offering combination of psychotherapy, private yoga,
and trauma-informed yoga sessions
We are all presented with challenges, stressors, and anxieties on a daily basis. Most of us have become conditioned to respond, both behaviorally and emotionally, in certain ways due to past experiences or environments. Some have even endured significant past trauma that may still be affecting their present lives.

Talk therapy is a useful tool for many and it often can help clients reach new levels of insight into their lives and relationships with others. However for some, alternatives are needed. Each client is unique and my aim is to create an individually tailored approach to treatment. Many people may not be able, or simply may not want to access feelings/cognitions right away, and it can be helpful to start in the body. Treatment is often most effective when the body is part of the healing process. In my practice, I hope to teach clients the “language of their bodies.” Emotions and trauma are often stored or trapped in the body. Yoga and other mindfulness techniques can be used to help clients reconnect with their bodies, giving them an opportunity to have a present moment experience both physically and emotionally. As a psychotherapist and yoga practitioner I will give my clients tools to re-inhabit their bodies in a new way. Sessions will be client centered and can start with talking and lead into movement; start with movement and lead into talking; integrate movement and talking together – or just focus on movement alone. I hope to be able to provide an experience that is most useful for the client – which can change on any given day, or even within the session itself.
