Susan Peterson, CAMTC #1039, NCTMB
Massage Therapist
Irvine, CA 92602
Experienced, Effective Massage Therapy
Deep tissue and sports massage for wellness and performance. Each massage is tailored to the current goals of clients, such as relief of pain, improved flexibility, more energy, stamina, etc. Many clients have been with me for several years as they meet their goals and set new ones. Getting there is fun! Sometimes performance goals are athletic, like running marathons or improving golf scores. Regular therapeutic massage is a major factor in preventing injuries as well as maintaining health. I practice massage with empathy. I understand the pain and limitations of conditiions such as migraines, fibromyalgia and TMJ. I work to improve quality of life and eliminating headaches and back pain. Understanding dysfunction and feeling it helps me devise massage techniques to resolve those problems and eliminate patterns that produce them. My toolbox is equipped with many different massage techniques -- neuromuscular, sports, Swedish, lymphatic and active release to name a few - and I use combinations of those techniques to achieve results. Those combos help dislodge chronic knots and erase patterns. If a client tells me they always have a knot in a certain area of the shoulder, I use several techniques to remove the knot for good. I also draw on my experience as a medical writer and researcher to find ways to get rid of stubborn patterns. Often what works for athletes trying to overcome a touchy hamstring often works as well for people trying to erase tension from an old whiplash. Who knew?
