Southern Psychiatry Associates LLC is a group of physicians and therapists who want to help treat mental illness. Janell Harvey has a License for Professional Counseling in Mississippi and M.Ed. from Mississippi State University. She has more than 20 years of experience working with adults and children suffering from emotional or mental disturbances. Her career includes working with children impacted by child, sexual, physical abuse and neglect; working eight years at the MS State Department of Mental Health developing and evaluating child mental health programs across the state. She worked in the school system after Hurricane Katrina helping grade school children during their time of recovery. Janell has provided mental health to students at a local community college and patients through a community health center.

My experience ranges from small children to older individuals seeking help on a variety of issues. I believe that the past has to be worked through before it can truly be put away.
