MyoSolutions: Because Pain Relief Is Very Relaxing!
MyoSolutions, LLC provides massage & bodywork for pain relief, improved mobility and athletic performance. Our clients are diverse in their stages of life and wellness. They range from tweens to near centurions. They are ironman tri-athletes, award winning swimmers, occupational athletes and people who are currently living with and treating for cancer, MS and Parkinsonism. We begin with a health assessment and interview to determine our client's goals. We then use our assessment skills and proficiency in manual techniques to meet those goals. We utilize all of our training and skills to assist our client's in achieveing the desired outcome. Therefore, we do not charge different prices for different types of massage. Our job is to manipulate your muscles not your wallet. Our sessions are for the full session time. This means if you request a 60 minute massage you will be on the table receiving massage for A FULL HOUR. We do not engage in the practice of offering 50 minutes for a one hour massage. That 10 minutes other therapists commonly use for client's dressing and undressing may not seem like much, but it is nearly 20% of your session time. Are you getting a 20% discount? Do you really want to pay your massage therapist for allowing you to change? We do not believe this practice is in the best interest of our clients so we do not do it. Although most people we see are dealing only with soft tissue issues, we take special pride in being one of few local practices trained and experienced in working with medically frail clients particularly those who have M.S. or Parkinsonism and those who are living with cancer, as well as those who have suffered a stroke or TIA. Because these treatments must be very specifically tailored to the indvidual's needs please call for more information if you would like to know if you or a loved one would benefit from this type of work.

Issan Thai Massage - We Aim to Heal
What’s a Thai Yoga Massage? Thai massage is believed to have been developed by Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha, physician to Buddha, more than 2,500 years ago in India. It made its way to Thailand, where the Ayurvedic techniques and principles gradually became influenced by traditional Chinese medicine. For centuries, Thai Yoga massage was performed by monks as one component of Thai medicine. What does Thai Yoga massage feel like? Thai massage is more energizing and rigorous than more classic forms of massage. Thai massage is also called Thai Yoga massage, because the therapist uses his or her hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches. Many people say Thai massage is like doing yoga without any work. Muscle compression, joint mobilization, and acupressure are also used during treatment. People describe Thai Yoga massage as both relaxing and energizing. What should I expect during my visit? Thai Yoga massage is usually done on a padded mat on the floor. No oil is applied, so you are fully dressed. You are usually asked to bring or wear comfortable clothing to the massage. A typical Thai Yoga massage is 60 minutes to two hours long. What conditions is Thai Yoga massage used for? Many people find that Thai Yoga massage has the following benefits: •relaxes •reduces stress •improves circulation •increases energy •increases flexibility •improves range of motion •centers the mind and body Precautions - Thai Yoga massage is not recommended for certain people: •infectious skin disease, rash, or open wounds •immediately after surgery •immediately after chemotherapy or radiation, unless recommended by your doctor •prone to blood clots. There is a risk of blood clots being dislodged. If you have heart disease, check with your doctor before having a massage •pregnant women should check with their doctor first if they are considering getting a Thai Yoga massage. A Thai Yoga massage in pregnant women should only be done by therapists who are certified in pregnancy massages. •massage should not be done directly over bruises, inflamed skin, unhealed wounds, tumors, abdominal hernia, or areas of recent fractures. Additional tips •Don’t eat a heavy meal before the massage and if it's your first time at the clinic or spa, arrive on time! •Be sure that your Thai Yoga massage therapist has your complete health history, because people with certain conditions should not have Thai massage. •If you feel discomfort at any time, let your Thai Yoga massage therapist know. Experienced with Myofascial work and trigger points
Licensed in both massage and acupuncture and certified in myofacial release,I have over forty years experience. In 90 minute sessions ($155 ) both massage and acupuncture are utilized, with most of the time spent on massage. Currently focusing on trigger points, my massage style integrates myofascial work, Shiatsu, and Swedish massage with the precision and energetic awareness of acupuncture. I can give a very strong massage. People feel comfortable with me because my interpersonal style is very casual, but professional. My practice has included famous authors, Tony, Emmy, and Oscar Award winning artists, professional athletes, scores of dancers, and hundreds of stressed out New Yorkers in pain. Currently my clinical focus is on trigger points, which cause seventy-five percent of all orthopedic pain, and on utilizing modern techniques to de-activate trigger points. I'm developing new protocols, which integrate ancient Chinese acupuncture and neuromuscular massage to treat past insults (physical, mental traumas) that are imprinted in the myofascial/nervous system, causing patterns of pain. Jeff is especially gifted at making people feel comfortable. His interpersonal style is very casual, but professional. His practice has included Tony and Emmy Award winning artists, movie actors, various creative geniuses, and hundreds of stressed out people in pain.

Therapeutic Bodywork in a context of Traditional ThaiMassage
Thai Massage soothes the body, quiets the mind.
As a graduate of the Swedish Institute I have developed strong skills in both Western and Eastern styles of massage. My training has given me a solid knowledge base in the biosciences, and an emphasis on integration of these components into practical applications. The study of anatomy, physiology and pathology has provided me with the foundation needed to develop confident therapeutic skills. Before my decision to specialize in Thai Massage, I studied and practiced Swedish massage and have integrated advanced Western modalities such as medical massage, sports massage, myofascial techniques and trigger point therapy. Five-Element Shiatsu provides an Eastern perspective which emphasizes the flow of Qi, or energy, through the body. Eastern and Western modalities are incorporated into my work. Clinical strategies, assessment and ethics are also a part of my professional development. My initial goal upon beginning a career in massage therapy was to practice medical massage. In the last semester at Swedish Institute, we were asked to choose electives. During the first five weeks of the semester I studied Thai Massage. I will always remember exactly how my partner was stretching me when I decided that this modality is superior to all those that I had previously been exposed to. That same day I began to make plans to study in Thailand. If you are a fellow massage therapist who has an interest in Thai Massage, feel free to enquire in an email message about working together to extend this wonderful tradition. I periodically get requests for couples massage and would like to increase my options for practitioners to work with.

Live your life free of pain!
I am a New York State Licensed and Board Certified Massage Therapist who has worked with hundreds of clients. Conveniently located near the Union Square, East Village, and Gramercy Park neighborhoods, I specialize in chronic pain relief, postural alignment, and mobility. This means that I focus on helping: Athletes (professional and recreational), i.e. marathon runners, snowboarders, fitness buffs, dancers, and others injured while doing sports & fitness. Repetitive Stress Injury sufferers, i.e. office workers, desk sitters, high heel walkers, and backpack carriers. Recovering patients, i.e. car accident victims, recent surgery patients, patients trying to avoid surgery, and chronic illness sufferers. My work is primarily a blend of Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage, Medical Massage, and Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques. Sessions are focused on alleviating your pain, tension, and restrictions, improving your alignment, and enabling you to move freely. Whether it’s running marathons, writing novels, or lifting up your child for a squeeze, my goal is to help you do what you love for as long as you love to do it! My work is uniquely defined in three big ways: Tailored to you: We’re not treating a condition; we’re treating a person. Just because two people have the same injury doesn’t mean they will both respond in the same way to identical treatments. A customized, individual treatment plan is developed to help you best achieve your personal health goals. Targeting therapeutic goals: To achieve long-lasting benefits of your massage therapy sessions, the work is goal oriented. Not only do we focus on alleviating pain and tension, but we work towards specific functional goals, such as walking for more than 1 mile without muscle cramping, getting back into cycling, typing for more than 5 minutes without numbness in the fingers, getting down on the floor to play with grandkids, walking up and down subway stairs instead of splurging on cabs, and getting out of bed in the morning without muscle spasms. Evidence-based: My work is informed by the latest research - and fortunately, massage therapy research has been exploding in recent years. I combine this with extensive experience and continuous advanced education courses taught by leading health and bodywork educators. Evidence-based practice also includes the valuable information you bring regarding your health history, your experiences, and your treatment goals. Book your first session today and begin increasing the quality of your life!

Important Part of Preventive Health Care and Treatment
Health Consultant: Health Counseling is a unique, exciting innovation in health and nutrition. As a Health Counselor, I have studied all the major dietary theories and will help you discover what approach works best for you at this point in your life. While most dietitians dwell on calories, carbs, fats, proteins, restrictions and lists of good and bad foods, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and free of denial and discipline. No one diet works for everyone. I will guide you to find the food and lifestyle choices that best support you. I will also help you to make gradual, lifelong changes that enable you to reach your current and future health goals. Ohashiatsu Consultant: Shiatsu refers to a Japanese pressure therapy used to relieve a variety of problems including back pain, neck and shoulder problems, stress, insomnia, digestive problems and fatigue. It is based on traditional Chinese medicine techniques that have been used since ancient times with Japanese innovations. It is a form of bodywork administered by thumbs, fingers, palms, elbows, feet and knees. This technique stimulates the natural healing powers of the body and mind, wherefore symptoms of disease lessen and vitality is regained. By helping with blood and lymph circulation, it maintains and improves muscle tone and healthy internal organ functions. It is believed that Shiatsu can also strengthen the immune system and calm the nervous system which increases resistance to disease and stress. Regular and consistent Shiatsu treatments can become an important aspect of preventive health care as well as treatment for existing symptoms.
