Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.)
Cherry Hill, NJ 08002
My practice provides a whole spectrum of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Tai Chi & Qigong) to enhance health and relieve symptoms. My practice is based on individual body needs and also emphasizes preventive care, which allows the body to protect and heal itself. I help many clients by looking at the body as a whole and addressing the root cause of their problem. Simple guidance in lifestyle changes can yield results where other more "sophisticated" approaches have failed.

Healing with Acupuncture & Chinese Herbs for Over 27 Years!
Six Fishes Chinese Medicine and Healing Arts is a trusted authority on acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Cara Frank is the founder and head practitioner of Six Fishes. In practice for over 27 years, Cara has treated thousands of patients with a wide variety of health concerns. Acupuncture originated in China over 3,000 years ago and is presently used as a primary health care modality throughout the world. Traditional Chinese medicine views disease as the result of an imbalance or blockage in the body's natural energy flow. Chinese Medicine treats the whole person by viewing the body, mind and spirit as being on a continuum. Patients feel relief from their symptoms and a renewed sense of vitality and peace. While our practitioners work with a multitude of health problems, we have a special focus on internal medicine. Among the varied problems that our patients seek relief from are: allergies, muscular-skeletal disorders, digestive problems, headaches, pediatric complaints, PMS, menopause, hormonal imbalance, infertility and side effects of cancer treatments. Treatments integrate Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, massage and Nutritional Counseling.

I am passionate about Chinese Medicine, and have witnessed its powerful effective of healing a person at the body, mind, and spirit levels. Every treatment is different for each person because of one's unique life experience. As my practice has grown over the past thirteen years, so has my way of helping people get to the root of an illness. Sometimes, moving a physical pain has a tremendous impact on a person's life. Other times, the physical pain is a manifestation of a deeper issue. Using a blend of many traditions, including Five Element and TCM, I help a person see where there is stuckness. Lifestyle coaching is an important part of treatments, since developing healthier habits outside of the treatment room is the key to keeping one in balance. Using the spirit of the points and their empirical functions help a person with these changes. Herbal medicine, when appropriate, can also help someone have a "treatment" every day, since the herbs improve the functioning of the whole being, not merely band-aid the problem. Being a practitioner of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine is extremely rewarding and the pursuit of knowledge never ending!

Acupuncture for Pain, Depression, Infertility, and More!
We are a wholistic health center who sees every person as an individual – body, mind and spirit. We offer natural therapies to help each person reach his or her maximum state of well being. We offer acupuncture, massage, shiatsu, myofascial release therapy, reflexology, prenatal massage, Reiki, craniosacral therapy, yoga therapy, private yoga sessions and more! Our promise is to enhance your sense of well being, to alleviate discomfort and to help facilitate a meaningful healing process, in a manner which is safe, respectful, and comfortable for you. We are professional, certified and licensed therapists. What does an acupuncturist do? During the initial exam a full health history is taken. Questions are asked regarding health, symptoms and lifestyle. An appropriate physical exam is conducted, including pulse and tongue diagnosis. Gathering this information enables the practitioner to effectively diagnose and detect any specific imbalances of Qi that may have contributed to a person’s health problems. The practitioner can then create a well-structured treatment plan. Once the imbalances of Qi are detected, an acupuncturist will place fine, sterile needles at specific acupoints along meridian pathways. This safe and painless insertion of the needles can unblock the obstruction and balance Qi where it has become unbalanced. Once this is done, Qi can freely circulate throughout the body, providing adequate nourishment to cells, organs, glands, tissues and muscles. This can eliminate pain and restore balance and harmony, as well as the body’s ability to heal itself—ultimately leading to optimal health and well-being.

Acupuncture Can Help You!
The theory of Oriental Medicine says that anytime there is any pain, disorder or disease, one’s energy is stuck. So my goal is always to move my patient’s energy, using acupuncture needles, in an effort to rebalance their energy so their body can heal itself. The beauty of acupuncture is that it always treats our body, our mind and our emotions/spirit. They cannot be separated. So even if you come to see me for a sore shoulder, you will undoubtedly find that you feel calmer after the treatments as well. And in terms of Western medicine we know that the less stressed we are the better it is for our physical self. Similarly, if you come to see me for anxiety, you may find that your carpal tunnel goes away. Acupuncture works wonders in this way to rebalance us on all levels. I also incorporate Allergy Elimination - An energetic system that uses muscle testing, and sometimes acupuncture, to find and desensitize one to items that the body shows a negative response to.
