Cassandra's Counseling
Professional Life Guidance
Individuals, Couples, Families
Working with individuals, couples, and families. Life is a journey of discovering more about yourself and your connection with others. There are difficult situations along the way, and you may just want to discuss some things, or you may be really struggling with a particular situation that you would like to work through. Either way, you will find that counseling is an investment in yourself and one that will always payoff as long as you keep using the tools. Sometimes just a few sessions can be really helpful, and other times things may take awhile longer. It often takes time and commitment to make changes.Anything worth doing takes effort. You can make changes in your life and feel better.
Office sessions available weekly and some weekends. Counseling or Life Coaching, provided with insurance or self-pay.

Bio
Over 20 years in the field of mental health with experience working with individuals, groups, couples, and families. Main area of study: Cognitive Therapy, which helps people to unravel difficult situations and weave them into meaningful connections into their lives so that they can live a life that is both fulfilling and rewarding.
I have worked in various venues: case management, substance abuse, child therapy, relationship therapy, individuals, families, bipolar, codependency, depression, anxiety, anger management, domestic violence (Batter Intervention), parenting, hypnosis, biofeedback, and cognitive therapy.
I am now mainly focused on cognitive therapy, which is based on the theory that thoughts affect how we feel. It has many other names, DBT, Cognitive refocusing, Cognitive reframing, REBT, and several others, but the basic premise is the same.
I enjoy teaching the concepts and I am working on developing some online courses that will do the same.
Quality not quantity is my goal so I will expect you to actively invest in the therapeutic process, which means you will agree to complete homework assignments and actively participate in treatment.
Therapeutic change is hard work and a lot depends on you and to what degree you are willing to dig deep to make changes. You will not be working on changing anyone other than yourself.

I have known Cassandra for almost two years and she has been a blessing to me. She has helped me get through some tough times and continues to be there for me with her wisdom and guidance. I do not know what I would do without her during some very difficult moments in my life. She is definitely an angel walking this earth.

I have been a client of Casandra for abut 5-8 years on and off and I would like to tell others about her ethical and professional approach to therapy. She hasa clear sight of the problems facing a client and has a direct approach to solving the problem, sometimes the direct approach is painful but it usually is on target. She has always chosen the approach most benefical to the client regardless oy where the bodies fall. I trust her honesty and her directness in dealing with a problem and offering an approach that is unique. She does not compremise her ethics and will stick to the facts involved in the case. I have always found her to be honest and sincere i dealing with people and never alloew the persons ability to pay to become an issue. I guess you could say I am fond of Cassandra and you would be right,FOnd as in apple pie and chocolste chip ice cream Thats all I can say ,Art Marchesi
