Integrative Psychotherapist
I am a fully qualified psychotherapist and member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I offer a confidential, open-minded, non-judgmental style of working which respects the ideas, knowledge and wisdom which clients bring into therapy. I am an Integrative Psychotherapist which means that I am trained in, and can apply, different theoretical approaches. My psychotherapy practice is mainly based on humanistic and psychodynamic principles, although I also use ideas from the cognitive, behavioural and transpersonal therapies. The therapy I offer involves a 50-minute session at a regular time each week. The length of therapy is agreed on an individual basis, depending on the needs of the client and what they want from the therapy. I work with people age 18 and upwards. I hold an anti-discriminatory ethos and welcome requests for therapy regardless of factors such as ethnic origin, nationality, or sexual orientation. Booking an Appointment: If you would like to book an appointment, please contact me with a few sentences telling me about the problem or problems you would like help with. I will usually reply to your email within 24 hours. If I am available to work with you, I will usually offer you an appointment within the next 10 days. I will send you a short form to fill in with some basic information such as your contact details. What happens in a first session? In our first session of therapy there will be three areas of focus. Firstly, I will begin to explore with you your reasons for seeking therapy at this time. Secondly, I will ask you for some background information about yourself, for example your family, your health, and whether you have had counselling or therapy before. Thirdly, you will have the opportunity to ask me any questions you may have about the therapy and to express any hopes or fears about what the therapy will be like. The first session will be charged at my usual rate of £40, or £35 if you are eligible for a concessionary rate. Travel information: My consulting room is within walking distance of Oxford city centre, on St Clements. By car – You can park at one of the car parks nearby - St Clements Car Park near the Angel and Greyhound pub, or the car park behind Tesco off Cowley Road. You can also use the Park-and-Ride bus which runs between Thornhill Park-and-Ride, in East Oxford, and Seacourt Park-and-Ride, in West Oxford. By bus – There are several convenient bus routes, including those that run to and from Barton, Oxford Brookes University, and the John Radcliffe Hospital. By train- If you are coming by train, take the Park-and-Ride bus number 400 towards Thornhill from Oxford railway station.

Relationship and Family Therapy
Lets talk together to make your life easier
My work focuses on on relationship issues. I work with individuals, couples and families and all the issues that that includes, anxiety, separation, escalating rows, communication to name but a few. I am a professionally qualified and experienced therapist with a private practise in Twickenham and Staines. I have an Master of Arts degree in Relationship and Family Therapy in addition to my private practise I also work with Relate at several locations. Whether you are looking for help for yourself, your marriage, your children or your whole family, I can offer you confidential, professional help rooted in my experience and training. I can provide you with a safe, confidential space in which to talk about and explore the issues which are troubling you. It may seem hard to find the right counsellor or therapist or even know quite what you are looking for. Please feel free to call or e-mail me with any questions you may have without any obligation at all. I'll be more than pleased to answer any queries you may have so you find what is right for you. What people say about me: "Many thanks I feel like me again. I would not hesitate to come back and see you again if I needed to" (Individual) "I thought we were going to sit in silence for an hour but we both found having you there helped us to talk and more importantly listen to one another and once we started talking we couldn't stop!" (Couple) "For all of us to sit down together and talk was amazing - I cant remember the last time we did. We would so recommend you to our friends." (Family) When we first meet: During our initial consultation we will discuss the reasons you are seeking help and you will have the chance to ask any questions about what happens in therapy and express any worries or concerns you may have. This first meeting also gives us the opportunity to think about working together, we will also go through the frequency and length of time that you will see us for. How can counselling help? Sometime it is hard to manage the feelings that you have and talking things through with a therapist can be truly liberating. Sometimes admitting that you are finding things too much gives you what you need to seek help and start to address what is bothering you. We look together to develop your autonomy and if you are in a relationship at rekindling respect and trust of each other. Other areas of counselling I deal with Young People Counselling. We currently work with Young People aged between 8 and 18 and together we look at the issues they are dealing with from their parents separating to behaviour issues, self harm, school refusers - we work at their pace to improve their lives. The work is confidential and the young people decide if they would like a parent present in the sessions. Post IVF Counselling. There are often relationship issues which arise from an unsuccessful IVF treatment and couples often do not realize until too late the issues that they are facing because of IVF - we look at these issues together and resolve a lot of the unspoken issues of loss and gender differences which the relationship faces because of this. Family counselling . We can help create a safe and neutral space for you to come as a family and talk about what is bothering you - it may be you are a blended family, it maybe one of you just is not getting and your arguments are escalating and causing increasing distress for you all. Whatever it is counselling can give you another way of looking at things and a safe place to discuss what is bothering you. I am a qualified and experienced psychoanalytic psychotherapist, using the insights of modern relational psychodynamic psychotherapy and interpersonal neurobiology. I am experienced in working with people with mental health problems, substance dependencies, and life crises. I have worked with people from all walks of life, ethnicities and backgrounds, from senior civil servants to rough sleepers. I also work with work-related issues, including development and leadership; I have experience as a director of a multi-million pound not-for-profit organisation. My practice is based on the concepts of the importance of relationships, and on self-development, recovery, and discovery - finding out what is really going on for you, and what resources you have to work your way through it. Therapy can be challenging, but it is rewarding, and lasts long after the therapy itself ends. It is about helping you find your own vision to light up the rest of your life.
