Specialize in Helping Successfull, Stressed, Professionals
In 2001 Solutions & Results emerged from my commitment to develop an independent therapy center with integrity, focused on emotional development and transformation. We provide individual psychotherapy, coaching, couples therapy, group therapy and executive and organizational development. I specialize in helping successful, stressed professionals and executives to maximize their potential. There are many reasons people seek therapy, coaching or counseling. I understand how difficult it can be if you are experiencing any of the following and I have helped many people with: Low Energy Anxiety Sadness Stress Loneliness Self-esteem problems Crises Career Issues Marital and other relationship problems Grief Anger Or maybe you know you just don't feel quite right. I can help. We will explore your experience together in a safe, compassionate, and caring setting. Robert Hartford is a Systems-Centered Therapist (SCT). SCT* uses specific techniques to help achieve results. Being the only Licensed SCT* Therapist in DC and the surrounding area, means that when you join my private practice, you will get special attention. You will be part of an exclusive group of clientele, learning specialized techniques unique to SCT*. You can expect to get high level, sensitive, quality care, so you can progress and not be stuck in therapy forever. Choosing the right therapist is one of the most important things for successful therapy outcome. But it isn't anything about the therapist per se, that makes that so. What matters most is that the two of you are a good fit. The right relationship is what makes the difference. So come ... explore ... and see if this is the fit that works for you. Together we will uncover your hopes and dreams, identify the obstacles and discover ways to reduce them, allowing for the possibility of turning your potential into reality. I have heard it time and time again: "I've wanted to do this for a long time but I just didn't want to admit something was wrong with me. Now that I'm here, I realize it is not that something is wrong with me, I just want something more". Therapy does not mean you're broken; it is a tool for personal growth. If you want to gain awareness and learn more about you and your potential for increased wellness and fulfillment, therapy or coaching can give you the tools. SCT* and The Theory of Living Human Systems, developed by Yvonne Agazarian, finds that by reducing the constraints that prevent growth and development, energy is free to lead toward transformation. Don't expect to lie on the couch; this is not cookie cutter therapy and I will do more than just listen, say "yes", "hum", or "tell me more about that". I work along with you, using specialized methods and specific techniques to ensure you'll receive an excellent standard of personalized service. So when you join my private practice, you get my complete attention and focus on your situation so you can reach your goals over time. When you come aboard with me, be assured you'll get more than your typical psychotherapy. Psychotherapy can often lead to: more fulfilling relationships better understanding of yourself significant reduction in feelings of distress better control over life situations solutions to specific problems lessening of depressive symptoms healing of emotional wounds increased life skills reduction of anxiety greater self-confidence a rise in self-esteem better moods In July 2012 Robert was selected as a presenter for the 18th International Congress in Cartagena de Indias, Columbia. Robert received training with Rebecca Jorgensen. "Working with Couples: Comparing Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Systems-Centered Theoretical and Clinical Approaches" at the SCT* Conference in San Francisco.

Lisan Martin, MSW, LICSW, LCSW-C
Clinical Social Worker/Therapist
Washington, DC 20008
For twenty-five years, I have helped individuals, couples and families facing the difficult challenges that we all can face at times. Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, uncertainty in your relationship, feeling stuck at work or facing the pain of infertility, I can help you gain clarity, improve your coping skills and help you find your way to an improved life. Selecting a psychotherapist is a highly personal decision and requires time and thought. The therapeutic relationship is collaborative and involves trust, as the issues addressed in therapy are difficult and often painful. Thus, a good fit between client and therapist is an important consideration when embarking on psychotherapy. To determine if I might be the right person for you to work with, I like to talk at some length before scheduling an initial appointment. This usually takes about thirty minutes, is done on the telephone, and there is no charge. We will discuss why you are seeking therapy and my professional approach to the issues you describe. If it does not seem to be the right match, either for clinical or practical reasons, I will suggest other options. Outlined below are some details regarding how my practice works once psychotherapy begins. I will protect the confidentiality of all information obtained in the course of therapy, except for compelling professional reasons, and in accordance with the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics and the Laws of Maryland and/or the District of Columbia The general expectation that social workers will keep information confidential does not apply when disclosure is necessary to prevent serious, foreseeable, and imminent harm to a client or other identifiable person. In most situations, I can only release information about your treatment to others if you sign a written authorization form. However, there are some circumstances in which no authorization is required. Federal Law (HIPAA) specifies these circumstances.
A copy of your specific rights as a patient and health care recipient will be provided.
A therapy session will last for forty-five minutes.
Payment can be made at each session or monthly, by check.
Cancellation notice is required twenty-four hours prior to a scheduled session to avoid charges for missed appointments.
I do not participate in any insurance plans, with the exception of Kaiser-Permanente. I will provide you with a statement of service with codes and diagnosis required by insurance companies for out of network reimbursement. Check with your insurance provider for details.
Megan Strange, M.A., LPC
Mental Health Counselor/Therapist
Fairfax, VA 22030
Therapy typically begins with a phone call or an email. Feel free to contact Megan either way, as she will respond within the same day unless specifically noted otherwise on voice mail or by "out of office" automated email response. The initial phone or email consultation is free of charge. Megan will most likely ask you some basic information over the phone, such as the following: Referral Source (Primary Care Physician, Pediatrician, Psychiatrist, Friend/Family Member, Internet, etc...) Presenting problem (Briefly, what brings you to therapy?) If you are a parent of a child for whom you are seeking services, where does he/she attend school? What grade is he/she in currently? Is he/she receiving any special education services? Demographic information, such as name, phone number, address, marital status, etc... Any prior mental health treatment? Inpatient hospitalizations, rehabilitation, or outpatient services? Insurance information (company, policy, your understanding of how your insurance covers or does not cover "behavioral health" or "mental health" treatment) What information you would like to have prior to your initial session? Megan will also provide you some information on what to expect and what to bring to your initial session. If you have been referred by a physician or other health care provider and would like her to have access to your records or other information, you may either sign a release upon the initial appointment or may bring a copy of your provider's release form signed by you. The next step in beginning therapy is to schedule and participate an initial intake appointment in the office. The first session is 75 minutes long, as it usually involves further information gathering and treatment planning. Depending on your reason for coming to therapy, this initial session will provide an opportunity to get acquainted and for Megan to begin developing an understanding of how she can best be of help to you, your child or adolescent, or your family as a whole. After the initial session, if you decide to continue therapy, you will have the opportunity to schedule the next session or two. Some people prefer to have a weekly standing appointment and others need more flexibility in scheduling ahead of time. Subsequent sessions will typically be 50 minutes in duration, unless requested otherwise or in more crisis-oriented situations.
