AYCMARC for busy and nocturnal people.
We are open when everyone else is closed
Hi my name is Mark Miller, CEO and lead therapist At Your Convenience Mental Health and Relationship Counseling of Denver (AYCMARC). I designed AYCMARC is for busy and nocturnal people. We are open when everyone else is closed. AT AYCMARC we believe that Your day off is your day off and should be used for fun, Not Therapy! At AYCMARC you can receive quality mental health counseling, addiction counseling, career counseling, and relationship counseling and/or mental health assessment, career assessment, and psycho-neurological assessment at your convenience. At AYCMARC we know that life happens when most mental health, addiction, career, relationship counseling, and assessment practices are.open. We Also understand you cannot leave early without risking your job. Until now your only option was to race to the counseling center after work so you are not over 15 minutes late and turned away because of your tardiness, but are still expected to pay for the session. The last choice is not receiving the help you or family needs. This may be fine for some people, but what if you court ordered? What if you cannot handle or cope with your issues without professional help. At AYCMARC we believe that you should not have to suffer because of inconvenient mental health, addiction, assessment, career, and relationship counseling practice hours. AYCMARC recognizes that you are busy after work taking the kids here or there, trying to get supper ready and other chores. At AYCMARC we know how hard it is for you to squeeze counseling in the mist of all this. This is one of the reasons why we are open late; for the busy person and family who wants to heal or strive for wellness. AYCMARC also realizes that some people work late at night, your nights are days and days are nights. Research on sleep is clear there needs to be consistency with a sleep schedule. Inconstancy of sleep hour can cause insomnia. It is no wonder why you have sleeping problems because most mental health, addiction, and relationship counseling practices are making you get up in the middle of your night on your day off.

Assessments and Interventions for Autism and Aspergers
Do you suspect that you or a family member may have Autism or Aspergers? Has the diagnosis been confirmed, but you need help dealing with social, emotional or behavioral issues? I offer diagnostic evaluations for children, adolescents and adults suspected of having Autism or Aspergers (evaluations include the ADOS and ADI-R). In therapy, we address emotion and behavior management, social and daily living skills, and life transitions. Clients build social, empathy, perspective taking, communication and problem solving skills. I have enjoyed working with individuals with ASD and their families for over 20 years. I use a variety of intervention strategies including TEACCH, Social Stories, Comic Strip Conversations, PECS, role play, and social autopsies. Caregivers receive support and assistance for dealing with behavior problems and developing strengths. My experiences with people with ASD and their families have been in residential facilities, schools, home-based therapy and traditional office-based therapy. I have published in the field of autism and enjoy public speaking about Autism and Asperger's related topics.

Andrea M. Risi, LPC

I provide counseling for Asperger's, Bipolar Disorder
and Chronic Medical Conditions
I believe in a holistic approach to mental health. This philosophy focuses on moving towards core values and learning to recognize behaviors that prevent us from seeking those values. I practice Acceptance and Commitment Therapy techniques, which use acceptance and mindfulness strategies together with commitment and behavior change strategies to increase psychological flexibility. We can use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy to manage issues like anxiety, depression, and stress. Interpersonal psychotherapy and insight-oriented therapy are other treatment modalities that are helpful when dealing with social skills challenges. I also offer Walk & Talk Therapy. This style of therapy has been around for several years, and it is a big contrast to sitting on a couch talking about problems. More evidence is pointing to the connection between the mind and body. Because movement improves our physical health and mental clarity, this type of therapy is very effective for those people who feel stuck.

Danielle Carron is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works as an integrative practitioner combining Contemplative Psychotherapy, Mindfulness and Awareness, Somatic Experiencing ® / Trauma Healing, Functional Neurology, Play Therapy and Holistic Nutrition to help support her clients in their individual journey of transformation, growth and optimal health. She works with children and adults and believes in treating each individual holistically. Danielle Carron is the founder of Integrative Psychotherapy and Nutrition Counseling. Danielle is trained to recognize and test for the various reasons why people develop such symptoms as PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), depression, anxiety, sleep difficulties, hypervigilance, ADD, ADHD, addictions, eating disorders, and/or attachment challenges. Her approach is to help people find and address the cause of their suffering rather than to treat the symptoms themselves. Danielle utilizes effective natural approaches to healing that support the body’s own ability to bring about balance and health. Her intention is to educate and assist people in reclaiming their heath, well being, and independence.

Certified Master NeurOptimal Neurofeedback
Are you needing a reliable, safe to resolution of your current suffering? Current understanding of brain science is clear: talking about your problem is not enough to resolve it because of how trauma protects itself and re-focusing on it over and over only makes it worse. Dr. Bessell van der Kolk of the Trauma Center in Boston, a key figure in the trauma resolution world now uses neurofeedback because he realizes that it directly helps the brain re=-set itself after trauma. This is the age of the complex, adaptive brain... We discovered about 15 years ago that our brains do not work the way we had been told. Our brains (or Central Nervous Systems {CNS} to be more precise) don't stop developing at around 18 years of age as we had believed for a couple of centuries. Our CNS is completely adaptable throughout our lifespan. This is great news for anyone who has had to live with the limitation imposed by a condition like OCD, depression, anxiety, poor focus, ADD/ADHD, stage fright, social interaction fears and on and on. All these conditions are the symptoms of a CNS that is overwhelmed and not functioning as it is meant to. Our CNS is so adaptable and resilient that IT is able to can change how it behaves, or mature, based on its own experience! So now we can listen to how the brain is behaving moment to moment and any time the brain (CNS) is misbehaving by using too much energy to accomplish its survival tasks, we can give it feedback in its own language that is just malfunctioned (using too much energy to deal with whatever is happening) and it takes that information and shifts to a more effiicient mode of behavior. And by training your CNS to do this over and over, you are calmer, more present, and able to deal with stressful situations that would have made you upset and lose energy. This approach is called NeurOPTIMAL® Neurofeedback and with more than 5 millions hours of client training, has proven that it is the safest, non-invasive, most effective approach to brain training available today.
