In addtion to serving as Chief Psychology Resident, I am Board Certified as a Holistic Health Practitioner through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). I have extensive experience helping individuals, couples and groups providing psychotherapy and psychological testing across a variety of settings. Dr. Scheidt holds a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from CAU. He is an invited member of the APA Division of Psychopharmacology and Substance Abuse, Member of the ACBS, Member of the Diversity Committee of the Florida Psychology Association, and the APA Society for the Psychological study of GLBT Issues. Dr. Scheidt has published various works in the field including his doctoral project "Positive Attitudes Learning and Support Program." This work is an internet based intervention to promote wellness for the GLBT community. Moreover, Dr. Scheidt served from 2012-2013 as a weekly columnist for the FIU Newspaper "The Beacon" where he authored a psychology advice column entitled "Ask Nick". Furthermore, Dr. Scheidt was featured in a cover story for the magazine GradPsych for his expertise in time management. Dr. Scheidt has taught numerous courses at the doctoral level as a teaching assistant including; Theories of Personality, Techniques of Psychotherapy, Physiological Psychology, and Cross Cultural Counseling. In addition to being a psychology resident, Dr. Scheidt is Board Certified as a Holistic Health Practitioner through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). Dr. Scheidt utilizes a holistic approach in patient care including Schema therapy in conjunction with Acceptance and Commitment therapy to treat a variety of different psychological disorders
