New York, NY 10005
Meghan O'Grady
Speech Language and Play is a private speech language pathology practice providing services to children in Brooklyn and Manhattan. All services are provided as home-visits. We value an ongoing partnership with families and so provided weekly updates on progress and yearly progress reports. At Speech Language and Play, we know play is one of the primary ways children build speech, language and social cognitive abilities. Play provides authentic, interest-based opportunities where appropriate intervention can take place. Play can also be challenging for some children, perhaps due to a language delay or social communication challenge. In these cases, more guidance is needed to enable and support collaborative play. With this in mind, our practice uses play opportunities to help children reach their goals. We also offer services supporting play and social development. We know the value of carryover and family support in helping children meet their speech and language goals. Speech Language and Play provides families with weekly updates on a child's progress, as well as guidance to support progression outside of our sessions. An ongoing partnership between our therapist and your family is extremely important to us.
