Acupuncture and Qigong Therapy
Chinese medicine treats the root cause. In Chinese medicine, the root cause is always an “energy diagnosis,” which tells us about the state of your energy in the body. Acupuncture is an art we commonly use in the clinic to treat a wide variety of conditions and health challenges. We even use acupuncture for “tune ups” or seasonal wellness visits, for people who enjoy acupuncture as a way of staying balanced, focused and healthy. We may use acupuncture to treat a common cold, injuries, or to support a cancer patient in their care. We may use acupuncture in the care of women’s health, men’s health, children’s medicine and fertility. Acupuncture is not only an ancient art, but rapidly becoming a modern science and integrated into western medical care for it’s very strongly positive effects, and “side effect free. Basically, it involves insertion of very tiny (very fine) needles into the skin along acupuncture points, to affect the flow of energy (qi) in the body. Qi flows along channels in the body to organs and cells in the body, nourishing and promoting blood flow along the way, by Chinese Medicine theory. When qi is abundant and flows freely, the body can have good health. Hence, abundant qi and circulation in the body is one of the main goals of treatment with Chinese medicine. It also feels nice. Peaceful, relaxing and calming to the body, mind and spirit… it is just good for your health. Clinical science and medicine is showing many ways that acupuncture is of benefit to your health. It is side effect free, reasonable to afford, and has the gift of addressing the root cause and not just treating symptoms. Herbal Medicines in Chinese medicine, herbal medicine is complex –and requires a skilled practitioner to diagnose and prescribe appropriate herbal combinations. Chinese medicine formulas balance herbs together to support each other and give optimal effect based upon energy diagnosis. As part of care, for those whom it is appropriate, herbal formulas may be recommended as part of your care. Medical Qigong — Also known as Qigong Therapy, or “External Qi Healing,” or “Energy Healing,” is an art that is perhaps the most ancient of all of the Chinese medicine healing arts. Qigong healing as a therapy is a peaceful art of healing with energy that is done in various ways, according to patient needs, in the clinic. It involves the practiioner helping the patient to remove energy blockages and restore balance and flow through peaceful healing mind/body techniques, some of which are ancient arts, as well as teaching meditations, mind/body methods and movement, visualization and sensing techniques so that the patient can work with their own energy to improve their health. It is peaceful, but also empowering. Anyone can learn qi healing techniques to improve their health. For many, it is a wonderful part of everyday life.

What I love most about Dr. Kennis is his kindness and readiness to help" This sums up the kind of caring that Dr. Kennis has offered in his nearly 25 years of professional service. As he is trained and highly experienced in a number of specialties, Dr. Kennis is able to integrate (at times during the same session) Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine, gentle effective Chiropractic treatment as well as Lifestyle & Nutritional consultation. He is a Certified Firstline Therapy practitioner, practicing nutritional medicine after training with the Metagenics Functional medicine faculty for some 20 years. He strongly believes that "small bites" or "baby steps" are necessary for success on the path toward wellness. But of course if someone is suffering from an acute condition, that will demand immediate attention and relief. With the pace of modern life, stress and fatigue seem to be at the top of the list, so Dr. Kennis also looks to his patients to participate in their progress.

Providing Health Care, Naturally for Over 30 Years!
I practice Traditional full body acupuncture in a tranquil environment designed to optimize health and well being. Each treatment is individually tailored to the specific needs of each person. All options, treatment plan, and finances are fully explained before a course of treatment is started so that each person knows how long, how often, and how much care will cost. If it is felt that a patient cannot be helped by my care, that person will be informed on initial visit so that no one is wasting their time or money.

Most people seek out Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine after being disappointed with the results of medications and other treatments. Even the strongest modern drugs usually can only mask symptoms, not cause healing. That’s what makes Acupuncture and Chinese herbs so powerful. They work by assisting your body’s self-healing mechanisms and correcting biochemical imbalances. True healing is only possible when your body heals itself. During my work in physical therapy, I've seen many conditions that were slow to heal or wouldn't heal at all. Physical therapy does work, but there are conditions that it just doesn't treat well. I found this unsatisfying and looked for alternatives. This led me to my studies, degree and license in acupuncture. As an acupuncturist, I’ve been privileged to see many, many cases of healing, even after nothing else worked. Contact me to arrange a free 15 minute consultation.

Get The Best Treatment of Your Life!
In 1998, the National Institute of Health (NIH) released a consensus statement that acupuncture may help low back pain, osteoarthritis, headache, fibromyalgia, tennis elbow, migraine, asthma, carpal-tunnel syndromes, dysmenorrhea, stroke rehabilitation, chemotherapy related nausea and vomiting, drug addictions, and other conditions that involve chronic pain. In my practice, besides treating the above conditions, I specialize in women's health issues, such as infertility, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, PMS, irregular menstruation, polycystic ovaries, mental health (anxiety and depression), pregnancy, postpartum care, and menopause. I use gentle techniques by using high quality disposable needles to reduce any discomfort associated with needling.

Our Specialty in Infertility
I practice Chinese Acupuncture and Herbology not only to treat a variety of physical symptoms but also as a preventative to many common conditions and ailments. I bring to my practice extensive knowledge of the body gained from my training as a physician and Ob/Gyn in China, and through my 18 years as an practicing acupuncturist. At our clinic we work holistically in both our diagnosis (TCM) and treatment. We believe that pain and disease both manifest from imbalances in Qi, which is the fundamental energy flowing through us. An imbalance in Qi can cause many problems throughout the body. Through the use of sterilized acupuncture needles, Chinese herbs, cupping and tui-na we work on balancing your Qi, reducing pain, and healing your conditions. An exciting result of acupuncture treatment is in the area of fertility and in-vitro fertilization. We have had remarkable success working with IVF and infertility patients. Acupuncture works very well on acute and chronic pain, migraine, stress, anxiety, bell's palsy and more.
