I have a small private practice in Dallas, just off of the tollway and Trinity Mills. I deliberately keep it small so that I can truly devote myself to the clients that I have. I am selective about who I take as therapy patients and coaching clients. I only work with people who are really committed to the process of their work. You can go at your own pace and in your own direction when you work with me. However, I have found that clients who attend therapy regularly and who commit to doing between-session work are the onces who are most successful. In our initial meeting, we will get to know each other and see if this is the right type of therapy for you. You can assess whether you think I would be the right therapist for you, and I will tell you honestly whether I think I am the right one to help you. If it is a match, I will be delighted to be a part of your journey. The type of therapies that I'm specialized in doing are called Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy and Cogntive Behavioral Therapy. You can visit my Dallas REBT CBT Meetup Group, which is a low cost psycho-educational group that I run monthly, during which I talk about REBT and CBT topics. You can also visit my other group: The Dallas Club Fearless Meetup Group, which is another low cost monthly group. I am also always gathering names of people who are interested in participating in a psychotherapy group at my office. Psychotherapy groups focus on your specific psychological needs, whereas the meetup groups are focused on topics and are not therapy groups. **Please note: at this time, I don't accept insurance. I can provide you with an insurance receipt for you to file upon payment. Please check with your provider to see if you have benefits to include out of network reimbursement directly to you.

Making the choice to enter into the therapy world isn't always easy. For some, the idea of becoming vulnerable and opening up to a stranger is scary and anxiety provoking. However, the long-term benefits of self-exploration, self-understanding, and self-acceptance are invaluable. Some clients enter therapy with a specific goal in mind or issue to address. Perhaps you have been referred by another clinician or identified a particular problem that needs attention. Therapy is a great place to target those issues and carefully evaluate them in a safe place. Other clients may enter therapy without a specific goal. That's fine too! I work to create a safe and comfortable environment that promotes openness and healing. Individual Therapy - Individual therapy provides you with the opportunity to meet with me on a one on one basis and explore the complexities of your life in a safe space. I work diligently to identify your strengths, and explore ways to capitalize on these and create a more meaningful and fulfilling life. Family and Couples Therapy - Family and couples therapy works to identify patterns in the family system that may be preventing its members from reaching their full potential. We are all creatures of habit, but at times our habits can become mildly dysfunctional or flat out destructive. I work with each family to help develop more effective patterns and create a sense of balance within the system. Eating Disorder Specialty - I have garnered a unique expertise in the field of eating disorders, working in two of the nation's leading treatment facilities - The Renfrew Center and The Center for Pediatric Eating Disorders at Children's Medical Center in Texas. I have experience in residential, inpatient, and outpatient settings where I was able to refine my skills and develop a wide array of tools to use in my own treatment of eating disorders. In addition, my work has traveled across all ages - as I have conducted therapy with adolescents, young adults, and adults alike. I work to identify how patients use their relationship with food to control life chaos, relationships, and seemingly difficult feelings. Pre and Post-Partum Speciality - Beginning a family or adding a new member can be both exciting and nerve racking. All women have different experiences before, during, and after pregnancy. If you are living with anxiety, depression, or a substance abuse problem, I can help. Deciding whether or not to seek out a therapist or counselor can be a difficult step to take. If you considering participating in therapy, I recommend you seek a professional opinion to see if you can benefit from participating in this. Maybe you are having a difficult time finding motivation to get tasks done each day. Maybe you are having a difficult time in you relationship. Whether you are working through individual issues or issues in your relationship, counseling may be able to help. Some people who have anxiety have difficulties with change, while others have difficulties with social situations. Together we will look at the triggers for your anxiety and find ways to cope with these triggers, and even make many of them disappear. In individual counseling, I can help you analyze your thinking in a way that allows you to change it. With cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques, you will be able to challenge and change the thoughts that are leading you to feel more negative emotions. We will also look at situations in your life, and find solutions to these situations so that you can handle similar ones in the future with less stress. In couples counseling, we will look at the dynamics in your relationship that are leading to problems. Maybe you have difficulties communicating. Maybe your sex-life is struggling and lost some of the passion that it used to have. I can help you break down these issues so that they are more understandable and manageable. Many times the issues that have made the relationship toxic can be handled with some simple interventions. Other times more extensive therapy is needed. I specialize in helping individuals who live with Asperger's Disorder. I utilize cognitive-behavior therapy to help these individuals with communication, their anxiety and depression, and their relationships. Finally, I also specialize in working with individuals who are part of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) community. I understand the relationship dynamics that can take place in couples counseling, as well as individuals issues such as coming out and dealing with discrimination. Therefore if you are lesbian or gay, you can feel comfortable in knowing that you have a safe place to go to. If you are part of the transgender community, I can help you with finding ways of expressing the gender with which you identify.
