Experienced and Sensitive Psychotherapist
Every day people ask us how we are. Most of us give reflex answers like ‘Not bad’ and bounce the question back. What if the question stayed with you? If you were being completely honest, how would you answer? How would you expect that the questioner would react? In an ideal world, how would you like them to be with you? When we are struggling with painful problems or keen to live a more enjoyable life it can be helpful to talk with someone who is empathic, knowledgeable, and skillful at facilitating change. This is what I offer. I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist with qualifications and experience in NLP, hypnotherapy, and contemporary shamanic approaches. I offer psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and businesses. Like all psychotherapists I am committed to: - Honouring the trust you place in me - Respecting your right to choose for yourself - Promoting your well-being (I am professionally supervised) - Avoiding causing you harm (I am insured) - Treating you fairly - And practicing what I preach by understanding and caring for myself Some of the things that make me different are: Some of the reasons you may choose to work with me are: - Sessions go deep - often resolving patterns that have been passed on through the family. - Sessions create rapid change - I coach clients to identify and confront their fears at a pace which is right for them. - Clients are treated as a team member rather than as a victim who needs saving. - Energetic rapport enables me to sense what is going on with their energy bodies. - 90 and 70 minute sessions are significantly longer than the standard 50 minute 'hour'. - I don't expect you to stick to a regular appointment time so you have more flexibility to choose when to come.

Mindfulness East London
Classes for individuals, groups and businesses
The BeingWell is a mindfulness social enterprise. The BeingWell offers mindfulness courses in one-to-one and group settings available to the general public as well as workplace wellbeing programmes. A proportion of profits goes towards rolling out mindfulness courses to economically disadvantaged people in Tower Hamlets. The BeingWell is serious and passionate about Mindfulness. We are also inventive and creative in the delivery of our programmes. Mindfulness is fashionable – and it is also timeless. There is currently a ‘buzz’ about mindfulness and the specialist expertise of The BeingWell grounds and deepens our mindfulness offerings. Mindfulness has withstood the test of time in the East, and the success of Mindfulness reaching its full potential in the West, depends on the depth of understanding and quality of training of the people who deliver Mindfulness to the masses. The BeingWell practitioners have solid background knowledge and experience of working with the human mind. We have a coherent knowledge of why and how Mindfulness works rather than rolling out an off-the-shelf tool. We understand mindfulness within wider psychology – both traditional and contemporary. TheBeingWell practitioners have intellectual knowledge through high-level training and we also embody mindfulness through the example of having a long-term personal mindfulness practice.
Canary Wharf Counselling

Counselling
I am a counselling psychologist and psychotherapist in private practice in Canary Wharf. I am recognised by the UK's leading professional organisations for counselling and psychotherapy, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) as well the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapists (UKCP) and I am a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), the governing body for psychologists and the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). I combine my leaning towards academic accomplishment with a down-to-earth and approachable manner in working with clients. I have worked clincially in a number of settings and with clients from a variety of backgrounds and presenting difficulties. These settings have spanned hospital contexts, not-for-profit organisations as well as private practice. I currently work with leading insurance and Employee Assistance Programmes to meet the high-quality service demands of their corporate clients. I am a recognised by Aviva, AXA PPP, Bupa and Cigna. I also accept GP referrals in Tower Hamlets and am experienced in working with a diversity of concerns. I am also very pleased to hear from private individuals considering entering counselling and so I have endeavoured to make my practice as accessible as possible in terms of affordability, disability and diversity. On a more personal note, I am South-African born and have been living in London for the previous 13 years. On relocating myself in the UK, I set about establishing dual career paths. Before dedicating my career to psychotherapy and psychology, I also worked in the pressurised world of the media and communications departments in high-profile organisations. The blend of my two cultural and professional backgrounds helps me bring a grounded and practical stance to what might seem like lofty and inaccessible psychological ideas. My areas of work I work generally with individuals facing common human struggles and couples wanting to resolve their difficulties. We all go through rocky periods in our lives and therapy can help you smooth a way forward. Some examples of how therapy can help you move through difficulties include: Understanding what might be causing problems and repetitive patterns. Clarifying what direction you want to take in your life. Exploring problems with intimate relationships or family members. Overcoming trauma - be it from childhood or more recently. Coping with loss and bereavement. Managing workplace issues such as stress, bullying and career decisions. In particular, I have worked extensively with bereavement, domestic violence and adult survivors of childhood abuse. In addition, examples of my experience include stress, identity issues, panic disorders, eating disorders and self harm, anxiety and depression.

Garden Studio, Former Lawyer, Business Consultant
Therapy takes courage and I understand how difficult it can be to pick up the phone or email, to take that first step. I help people by working in a humanistic, relational way. The important thing is the affinity that can be developed. Together, we work to see what may be possible, what the options are when talking about whatever is causing you distress. I deal with all kinds of concern, including relationship issues, offering couples counselling for affairs, a sense of betrayal, divorce, separation, sexual or emotional abuse. Other concerns that clients bring include depression, stress, alcoholism, bereavement, obsessive behaviours, feelings of aloneness, inability to connect, workplace concerns, redundancy, or a feeling of being stuck or blocked and thus wanting to see how that might be addressed. My garden studio offers clients the chance to talk in a peaceful setting. I am a former lawyer, journalist and business consultant. Clients say they value talking to someone with experience in other walks of life. Whatever is troubling you, I help you feel at ease so you can explore what you need to talk about in confidence at your own pace. Sessions may be solutions orientated with an agreed number of them, usually about 12, or what you bring may be something that warrants longer term work and will therefore be more open ended.
