Counseling for Women

Welcome! I offer counseling services in the Fort Collins- Loveland, Colorado area. An integrative perspective, utilizing a blend of both eastern and western philosophy/modalities, guides my work. Using Art Therapy with Mindfulness and Body-Centered practices (Somatic Experiencing, Advanced EMDR III, Resource Tapping) along with Guided Imagery, Nature-Inspired practices and traditional talk therapy allows clients to engage on all levels, body, mind and spirit. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy can also serve a client well depending on their needs. My approach is warm, gentle, and compassionate, as well as informative, direct, and practical. I work with each person as an individual creating a therapeutic environment that is unique to that person's needs. My clients report that our work together allows them to connect more deeply to themselves and others, to communicate their thoughts and feelings more effectively and clearly with others, to find more stability and joy in their lives through the reduction of negative effects, such as acute and chronic anxiety and depression, and to experience greater self-worth and self-confidence. If in reading this profile you feel attracted to or are further curious about the work that I do, I welcome your inquiries. Please feel free to call for a complementary phone consultation. Sessions are a full hour and range from $135-185, depending on financial status. I do not accept insurance, but some insurance companies may reimburse you if you file a claim.

Couples Counseling and Individual Psychotherapy

I offer psychotherapy services that will help you explore whatever it is that might be holding you back from living a vital and robust life. I can help you get your life on a track that will truly put you in touch with “happiness.” When we’re speaking to someone who is truly listening to us in a non-judgmental way we end up saying things we didn’t know we were going to say. This is therapeutic. When we talk to someone whom we feel truly hears us and “gets” us, who accepts us as we are . . . we begin to feel freer to reveal to that person (and, by proxy, to ourselves) more of who we really are. This is therapeutic. The healing that occurs in this safe space of speaking and being heard and seen is rarely duplicated in the world outside the consulting room. If you’re fortunate enough to have someone who gives you this kind of attention, then you know how precious that is. I create a safe space for revealing and discovering who you are, how you’re being in the world, and, if necessary, why? I help you find in yourself your preferred mode of being, to create more effective ways of getting what you want out of your life, and I work with you to execute a plan to make that happen. My work with couples (of any sexual orientation) includes conflict reduction, improving communication, and creating more intimate and ultimately satisfying relationships. There is often a breakdown in communication that takes place within a couple and leads to conflict, tension and even the dissolution of the bonded relationship altogether. Luckily, couples therapy addresses what is being said between two people, what is being heard, and what to do when the couple needs help finding a way to re-connect and enjoy each other again. There are few things more painful than feeling like you’ve lost the love you once shared with someone. If you’re in this position, you know exactly what I mean. It’s heartbreaking to feel disconnected from your loved one. Maybe the passion is missing, your day to day routine has dulled the spontaneity you once had, or you just don’t seem to know how to talk to each other anymore. I love working with couples because I get to be part of a process that allows people to restore their ability to experience companionship in a healthy and satisfying way. I offer zoom sessions for your convenience.

EMDR Therapist for Trauma, Anxiety & Dissociation

As a trauma-trained clinician specializing in EMDR and IFS, I work with children, teens, and adults healing from trauma, abuse, attachment wounds and emotional overwhelm. If your mind and body feel stuck in survival mode, you may notice anxiety, shutdown, or reactions that feel hard to control. You might experience racing thoughts, emotional reactivity, or disconnection from yourself and others, making it difficult to feel safe or fully present. Together, we process what feels stuck, regulate your emotions and nervous system, and reduce overwhelm, triggers, and dissociation. We build emotional regulation skills and deepen awareness of your inner experiences so you can respond with intention rather than react and feel more grounded and in control in your daily life. For children and adolescents, I integrate play therapy with these approaches. Sessions may include games, sand trays, and creative activities to help younger clients' express emotions, build coping skills, and feel safe and supported. I also work closely with families, offering guidance to strengthen connection, improve communication, and support their child’s emotional and social development. If you’ve been carrying experiences that still feel heavy or overwhelming, therapy can help you begin to release that weight. With EMDR and IFS, we’ll process what’s unresolved and help you feel more grounded and connected to yourself. If this feels like what you need, I invite you to reach out! When I’m not in session, you can usually find me spending time with my dogs, at the gym, or diving into a good book or a new topic that sparks my curiosity. View less
