My first question to any new client is, “How will you know when therapy is over?” This helps us both to define the goals of therapy. Myers Counseling Group was started in August of 1999. Mark and Janet initially worked out of the Gurnee office. As our practice grew, we included Crystal Lake in our service area. I have a special interest in Mindfulness and Meditation, incorporating guided imagery, breathing and even yoga stretches with traditional therapy techniques. Now, I am not your typical therapist. I like to get creative with interventions, not just worksheets and talk therapy. I incorporate movement, music, art and even yoga into my sessions. I frequently use humor and make my clients laugh, because laughter is therapy in itself!
