Client Centered Therapy for Adults, Children,
Adolescents and Families. EMDR.
It has been my privilege to work with people to assist them in finding their own inner strengths and their path to wellness as they overcome the challenges we all can face in our lives. The answers to the blocks we all experience are found within, and though we struggle to identify them, implement those answers, and find clarity, as a team the journey can be much easier. I join with my clients to forge the way with joy, and hope while maintaining a safe, grounded space from which to work. Compassion, acceptance, and patience hold the client in his or her truth, and form the basis of a strong and effective therapeutic relationship, and this relationship is the essential element for the trust that is needed to address difficult issues and make changes that can lead to a fuller and more rewarding life. One of the tools that I have used with great success in working with my clients is EMDR. EMDR is a relatively new psychotherapeutic treatment tool, which I am pleased to offer to my clients. Developed just a couple of decades ago. Now practiced all over the world it offers rapid results with a variety of issues that clients frequently bring to the therapeutic process. EMDR is stated to be the foremost treatment tool in major trauma such as combat, or child abuse, but is also used effectively for lifelong challenges that may be based on "minor" traumas that have left negative self beliefs behind such as "I am worthless" or "I don't deserve..." that can affect and limit any aspect of an individual's life. The EMDR technique, which is simple, safe and yields rapid results, involves bilateral stimulation of the left and right brain hemispheres via either eye movements fro

Counseling for Women
Welcome! I offer counseling services in the Fort Collins- Loveland, Colorado area. An integrative perspective, utilizing a blend of both eastern and western philosophy/modalities, guides my work. Using Art Therapy with Mindfulness and Body-Centered practices (Somatic Experiencing, Advanced EMDR III, Resource Tapping) along with Guided Imagery, Nature-Inspired practices and traditional talk therapy allows clients to engage on all levels, body, mind and spirit. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy can also serve a client well depending on their needs. My approach is warm, gentle, and compassionate, as well as informative, direct, and practical. I work with each person as an individual creating a therapeutic environment that is unique to that person's needs. My clients report that our work together allows them to connect more deeply to themselves and others, to communicate their thoughts and feelings more effectively and clearly with others, to find more stability and joy in their lives through the reduction of negative effects, such as acute and chronic anxiety and depression, and to experience greater self-worth and self-confidence. If in reading this profile you feel attracted to or are further curious about the work that I do, I welcome your inquiries. Please feel free to call for a complementary phone consultation. Sessions are a full hour and range from $135-185, depending on financial status. I do not accept insurance, but some insurance companies may reimburse you if you file a claim.

If you are reading this, you may very well be suffering and in need of support to live your life with less dread and more joy, less doubt and greater assurance, less anger and more self-control. If you are seeking services, you are already moving in the right direction by identifying the intent and developing the motivation needed to affect desired changes. A plethora of support services exist, and if you can receive the help you need from less-intensive and/or less-expensive sources, I encourage you to do so. Thankfully there are many self-help groups, such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Gamblers Anonymous, as well as the National Alliance on Mental Illness that can offer great support on the road to recovery. In fact, if you retain my services, I would most likely suggest that you and your family increase and refine your connections to the community, church, and support groups that promote positive growth and well being. Change is not only possible, it is inevitable. Too often we live our lives as though we are permanently enslaved and predestined to be wasted in self-inflicted pain. Most people have moments of clarity in which they understand and appreciate the ability to willfully change the causes and conditions of their lives, but sadly they are caught up in circumstances and surrounded by people who are deeply invested in the familiarity of suffering. As such, opportunities for change are unfulfilled

Psychotherapy/Counseling On a Variety
of Issues In-Person/Online/Phone
One of the most difficult decisions you or someone you know may have to make is finding a good, effective therapist. When one is struggling emotionally and is in dire need of help, the last thing you want is to have to struggle through the process of finding a good therapist. But, unless you know someone who knows a good therapist, you are usually left with having to pick a name at random from the telephone directory or from your insurance provider handbook. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to my private therapy practice. I am a licensed clinical social worker and registered nurse who sees adolescents and adults in individual, couples, family, and group therapy. I also run psychoeducational groups. I have been working as a therapist since 1999 in Philadelphia, PA and relocated to Marianna, FL in August 2006. My experience includes work with depression, bipolar disorder, suicide, self-mutilation, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, drug and alcohol, family issues, parenting issues, relationship issues, family issues, childhood issues, trauma issues, abuse issues, loss/grief/bereavement issues, women’s issues, self-esteem issues, self-image issues, codependency and dependency issues, anger management, stress management, time management, life skills, work issues, and case management among other issues. I also have experience working with dual diagnosis clients (those with mental health and addiction issues). My focus in working with clients is to help clients gain and maintain control of themselves and their lives despite present and past obstacles, stresses, and trauma. I work with some insurance and also see clients without insurance on a sliding scale fee. There are day, evening, and weekend hours available. I can usually schedule appointments within a couple of days to a week after the initial telephone call. I see clients in person as well as via telephone and online/internet modes. I accept most insurances and charge fees for those who do not have insurance. Reduced fees are available for clients based on income and situation.

We often lose touch with who we truly are and our priorities
My approach to psychotherapy is humanistic, psycho-dynamic and relational. I view healing of the whole person as part of an individual’s natural development and growth. This therapeutic process provides an introspective, empathetic focus, aimed at understanding, removing emotional blocks and moving toward ongoing growth. After assessing the individual's concerns, needs and goals, I make psychiatric referrals when necessary for prescriptive treatment and work closely with the psychiatrist, so that collaborative treatment planning and treatment options can be considered. I believe the relationship between the client and therapist is where the most significant healing occurs. Psychotherapy becomes a creative process, incorporating mindful attentiveness to one's self as well as the self of the other. The healing of mind, body and spirit merges into a solid foundation of the integrated self. Through the use of a variety of approaches such as psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and attachment theory, I offer a warm, accepting environment for the disclosure of emotions, experiences and secrets that may be difficult to discuss or have been held inside. Throughout our work together, we will bring awareness and light to the areas of your life where you feel stuck. Therapy can be a place to unravel your life story in order to “make sense” of it. The weaving of past stories, events, feelings and traumas, with current emotions, patterns, stressors and events will enable you to integrate the past with the present.

Spiritual Therapy to Transform Your Inner
Demons to Inner Angels
Anger is just energy we generate when there is a difference between what we want and what we have. There are two types of anger, corrosive anger and authentic anger. Corrosive anger is just energy to change what is, to something worse. Corrosive anger is just unhealthy energy and the ultimate source of our lack of health, abundance and joy. Authentic anger is just energy to change what is, to something better. Authentic anger is just healthy energy and can produce a Garden of Eden on our planet. My publications and coaching are concerned with helping to make you aware of how you can choose to transform your corrosive energy into your authentic healing energy. You can then choose to live a better life, on your journey to the life of your dreams. Only hire me when you are ready to find out how to transform your corrosive energy into useful authentic healing energy to do what you really want to do at your highest levels. Only hire me when you are ready to be grateful and responsible for your own past and present results. One of the major premises of my publications and coaching is that we are totally responsible for our own results from our own decisions. We are the ones who decide what to accept, reject or modify from others. We are the ones who got ourselves to where we are and have made countless previous decisions, including how to respond to the decisions of others. My responsibility is to write and tell what I know has worked for me and some others in my experiences and what I believe so far. I only know what works best for me and some others. You will need to determine what works best for you, since everyone is unique. It is up to you, to find your own inner and outer team resources and your own choice of your spiritual growth path. When you need medical or other information, please go to the medical or other experts of your choice. I am not here for direction, I am just producing information for your consideration and choice. My emphasis is on spiritual health, wealth, and happiness. What happens on the physical level may be or may not be as rapid as what happens on the spiritual level.
