Psychotherapist
I’m a trained psychotherapist with 15+ years experience working with adults and adolescents. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, OCD, depression, self-sabotaging behaviors, and relationship problems. I integrate various treatment approaches and theories in my work with clients, including somatic experiencing, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, attachment theory, spirituality, and buddhist meditation. I work in an empathic and supportive environment, helping clients to rapidly get to the core issues which keep them stuck in their lives, unhappy in relationships, or chronically depressed, angry, or anxious. Almost always, what creates suffering is the avoidance of painful feelings and/or experiences. When we avoid these painful feelings, we become more anxious, more depressed, or more angry. This leads to a vicious cycle of problems within ourselves (i.e, depression) or in relationships, which cause us even more suffering. By bringing to the surface the deep and buried, often complex, underlying thoughts, emotions, and experiences and working them through (feeling them in the body, understanding their source), this frees them up. And the unwanted feelings (anxiety, depression) or behavior melt away on their own. This then allows us to be more connected to both ourselves and others, to have more intimacy in our relationships and to feel more fulfilled in general. Using this approach, significant and lasting change can happen rather quickly, much quicker than most other therapies out there. And because these changes occur at a deep level, they tend to be lasting.

Pasadena Trauma Therapy, Inc.
If you are living with TRAUMATIC events from your past, ranging from insult, abuse, humiliation, violence, attachment wounds, or even subtle disappointments, therapy could be a safe space to address these injuries. Through a collaborative approach and taking into account the mind & body, I join my clients on a journey of exploration, growth, and healing. I can assist you in reconnecting with yourself, feel grounded, and help manage your life more smoothly. My specialties include working with trauma (emotional, sexual, physical, neglect, incest, rape, etc.), attachment issues, dissociation/multiplicity, general relationship issues, anxiety and depression, fears/phobias, grief & loss issues, etc. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based treatment approach shown to help children, adolescents, and their caretakers overcome trauma-related difficulties. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR), Trauma Resiliency Module(TRM), and Brainspotting are a big part of my practice. All modalities are very effective in treating traumas. EMDR is a form of psychotherapy that has been successful in helping people who suffer from trauma, anxiety, panic, disturbing memories, nightmares, etc. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping) while the client attends to past memories and triggers, in efforts to decrease or eliminate emotional distress connected to the memory. TRM is a somatic approach that helps clients with traumatic stress reactions by learning skills to help stabilize the mind and body. Clients will learn to track body sensations and bring balance back to the nervous system. I am a Certified TRM practitioner. Brainspotting is a somatic therapy that helps clients access the subcortical (non-verbal) part of the brain, where trauma is typically stored. According to the creator of brainspotting, David Grand, "where you look affects how you feel." Since our eyes gives us access to the subcortical brain, Brainspotting uses the visual field as a way to helps release stored memories. I also have sexual abuse survivor's groups, for both men and women.

Specializing in LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Therapy
Openings Available for Video Meetings - Get Started Today!
We all deserve to feel seen, included, and understood, no matter who we are. As a LGBTQ+ affirmative therapist, my aim is to help you better see yourself in all aspects of who you are, feel more included in relation to those around you, and experience a greater understanding of how you fit into a wider world. Maybe you’re exploring your non-binary gender for the first time. Maybe you’re supporting a transgender family member or partner. Maybe you’re working through relationship challenges as an LGBTQ+ person. Together, we can explore what “seen,” “included,” and “understood” mean for you and how you can achieve them. As a queer and transgender person myself, supporting other LGBTQ+ folks is my personal and professional passion. I strive to create safe, inclusive, judgement-free spaces for clients to explore, heal, and grow. While therapy can be hard work, I'm prepared to work as hard as you are and I'll be there to affirm and support you through the whole process. Reaching out for help can be scary. You're more than valid to feel this way and you’ve been through so much to get this far! I believe you have amazing strengths and vast resources within you and that our work together can help you unearth them. I’m trained in the therapy process, but you’re the expert of your own life. I look forward to learning from you.

Holistic Psychotherapy for Individuals and Couples
I take a holistic, body-mind approach in psychotherapy and work with clients to cultivate a grounded, more compassionate vision of their lives. I am passionate about helping individuals and couples discover a deeper, lasting sense of security and intimacy within themselves and with one another. I will work with you to define and understand the source of your struggle, understand the purpose behind your patterns, reconnect with you essential parts of yourself, and improve your capacity to grow and accept change. I work with DEPRESSION, GRIEF, SHAME, ANXIETY, TRAUMA, RELATIONSHIP PROBLEMS, concerns around LIFE TRANSITIONS, as well as the issues surrounding cultural identity. While change is often an opportunity for significant personal growth, it is normal to feel overwhelmed by the internal and external pressures that accompany a change process. I provide a empathic, collaborative healing space in which to explore your thoughts, feelings and questions. My theoretical framework is a combination of insight/depth-oriented, relational, cross-cultural, cognitive and somatic (body-oriented) psychotherapies. It is my belief that transformation and healing ultimately rest within us all. Therapy is a journey toward living more fully and reclaiming peace and wholeness. I do not presume to have the answers or know what is right for you. My job is to help you understand yourself as deeply as possible, so that you live and embrace your relationship with yourself and others in a way that is healthy, vibrant and meaningful for you.

Therapist in Pasadena, CA
I am so glad you’re considering therapy right now. Reaching out for therapy takes courage. It’s a choice to move toward balance, clarity, and wholeness. That movement can look different for everyone: starting therapy for the first time, deepening self-awareness, or finding new ways to connect in relationships. However you arrive, you are welcome here. My background as a teacher shapes the way I approach therapy because I believe in learning together. My role isn’t to “fix” you but to walk alongside you as we explore what’s working, what’s getting in the way, and what kind of change feels meaningful to you. My work integrates evidence-based methods with compassion, cultural humility, and respect for your unique story. I’m deeply trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which teaches us that growth often means holding two truths at once the both/and of any situation. Together, we’ll look at what needs to be accepted before we can move forward — and how to do that in practical, sustainable ways. We can accept ourselves as we are while still working toward change. Together, we’ll focus on building practical skills and insight to help you live a life that aligns with your values. You can expect our sessions to be collaborative, conversational, and guided by your goals. Together, we’ll explore how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact, and how we can shift them to better serve you. I also bring a background in body neutrality and body liberation, supporting clients in healing their relationships with their bodies and themselves. If you’ve ever felt unseen, disconnected, or uncertain about your identity, I want you to know you’re not alone. My practice is affirming, sex-positive, and inclusive of LGBTQIA+, POC, and kink communities. I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and identity exploration. My goal is for you to walk away from therapy feeling more grounded, empowered, and connected with tools to help you move through life’s challenges with greater ease and authenticity.

Life is a Journey, sometimes you need a Guide
Often psychotherapy is thought of as admitting failure - that you are unable to work out your own problems or just for crazy people. We are never taught the skills we need in relationships, how to process feelings about past events or make changes in our lives that will get us beyond a frustrating situation. Life and psychotherapy are processes. I feel that therapy is a process through which healing occurs and we discover meaning and purpose through which we become who we potentially are. There is no one right answer, there is only your answer that therapy can help you to discover. As a therapist I believe that deep inside every being is an innate wise core Self that can help one reach our potential. But often we are too distracted by our external environment to hear the voice of the Self or the Soul. In therapy it is important to address the whole person. I look for the potential in each person and help him or her to see it in as a beacon toward which to grow. Changing behavior is important, but I believe that change comes from the inside out. We need to believe in ourselves, our potential and find meaning and purpose in life that motivates us toward greater awareness, greater participation in life and greater appreciation of the opportunity life offers us for growth and fulfillment. I feel it is important to integrate spiritual beliefs into everyday life so that we act in relationships in a way that is consistent with what we believe and that we live our lives by the philosophy of our souls. This is important to our happiness and health and when we nurture our souls we contribute to the well being of family, friends, the workplace, society and our planet. Trauma, abuse and violence where trust and safety have been violated affect one’s ability to have and sustain relationships that are satisfying and nurturing. I work with victims of crime and abuse that is physical, sexual, verbal and emotional. This includes trauma recovery and healing. I also work with serious illness, death and dying and grief and bereavement. I work with all ages and address relationship problems within families, couples and groups in therapy. I have specialized experience, knowledge and training in “Spiritual Emergence / Emergency” in its many forms. I have a Transpersonal theoretical orientation, and work with creativity, intuition and spiritual experiences. I have training and knowledge in hypnosis, spirituality, parapsychology, consciousness, dreams, meditation, relaxation and visualization and Psychoneuroimmunology.
Mindful Therapy

Therapy with YOU in Mind.
I am a licensed psychotherapist and passionately believe in cultivating health, well-being, and emotional resilience. I bring this passion to my work and I am dedicated to help others in the process of achieving a more balanced life. I have been in private practice for 13 years and have offices conveniently located in Pasadena and Beverly Hills. I believe good mental health begins with an ability to connect the dots of our individual “stories” in order to develop a coherent narrative and "make sense" of that story. To accomplish this, I collaborate with my clients utilizing a variety of interventions including mindfulness practices and EMDR to assist in emotional regulation and symptom relief. I also help my clients identify specific coping strategies that may have brilliantly served them in childhood and adolescence but may no longer be useful or needed today. I help individuals understand themselves, parents better understand their children and help partners express themselves to each other more effectively. My clients are excited by our work and share that they often feel more hopeful and resilient after our sessions. Additionally, they acquire practical tools to take into their day-to-day lives. My current practice includes adults and adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety and relationship difficulties. I also see couples, families and children. I have a special expertise in working with the adoption community and facilitate various groups and workshops throughout the year for adoptees as well as adoptive parents and birth parents. I conduct workshops promoting adoption awareness for educators and mental health professionals. I co-chaired and presented at the First Annual Adopt Salon Conference in November 2012. Featured presenters included Nancy Verrier, Adam Pertman, Marlou Russell and many other leaders in the adoption field. Additionally, as a California approved Clinical Supervisor, I provide supervision and guidance to interns and trainees accruing experiential hours toward MFT licensure. My areas of expertise include: • Relief from depression, anxiety and suffering • Helping couples and families communicate more effectively • Adoption issues: I work with adoptees, adoptive families and couples who are considering adoption. I facilitate support groups and psycho-education groups several times during the year for all members of the adoption and foster care community. • Adolescents struggling with school stress, concentration, peer relations and esteem issues • Parenting concerns • Grief, trauma and loss

Rehearse for Your Life!
Compassionate Work on Relationships W/ Self & Others
My practice can be summed up with the words of e.e. cummings: We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit. I call my work REHEARSE FOR LIFE because in our safe confidential sessions we can practice those difficult conversations and confrontations with ourselves, our families, our bosses and our loved ones. We can look at the choices we have before us and see what are the consequences of acting out in those circumstances. I have had a great deal of success working with problems of ADDICTION and COMMUNICATION ANXIETY. A Registered Drama Therapist and Marriage and Family Therapist, Bradford began his work in Creative Arts therapy working for the renowned STOP GAP THEATRE COMPANY of Southern California (the leading provider of drama therapy in the country- doing over 1000 events a year). Bradford worked in battered women’s shelters (with the women and their children), facilitated at Hoag Hospital in the inpatient drug and alcohol rehab program, worked with terminally ill children at Children’s Hospital of Orange County, as well as foster care, juvenile hall and many other outreach programs for at risk kids and adults. He does a program at the VA working with the Vets in what he lovingly refers as "Karaoke Therapy", as well as ongoing seminars at American Academy of Dramatic Arts, AFI, and other schools and organizations. Call me. Let's talk about how to move you forward into your light.

Counseling for Individuals, Children, and Adolescents
Are you looking to make a positive change in your life but not quite sure what or how? Are there transitions in your life and you are unsure of how to cope with them? Do you have children and adolescents that you are finding hard to relate to? Do you feel stressed because of everything life throws at you? As your clinician, I want to work together to find a solution to these challenges. As humans, we should not have to deal with daily stress as a part of our lives and we shouldn’t have to figure it out all on our own. I specialize in working with children and adolescents. These two age populations are crucial in human development. During these stages of life, children experience many confusing emotions that relate to self identity, peer relationships, family relationships, life transitions and school. Working with children that range from 2-18 years old has allowed me to develop my knowledge with this delicate population. Working with children and adolescents, I have been trained to use different theoretical approaches, that which includes systemic, cognitive behavioral, postmodern, and humanistic. I also have experience working in the school setting providing counseling support and working within special education. My role is to provide support not only to the child, but also to the parents and family.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines chronic diseases as medical conditions that last over a year or more and require continuous medical attention or limit daily activities and living, or both, such as diabetes and asthma. The two components of addiction include drug addiction, also referred to as a substance use disorder, and non-substance addiction, or a behavioral addiction such as gambling and sex addiction that does not involve drug use. Medically, drug and alcohol addiction is a chronic, relapsing brain disorder distinguished by compulsive drug-seeking with continued use despite harmful risk factors and long-lasting effects on the brain, leading to mental, medical, and social complications.

Life is often filled with challenges which affect each of us in different ways. I believe that how we approach and overcome those challenges, help to shape us and allow us to experience life to the fullest. Creating a safe and supportive environment, where you can feel comfortable, is essential to my practice. In that setting, we can collaborate on how best to understand your situation, identify your goals, and find solutions. Feminist Therapy Practice, Trauma Experts
Therapy Specialists! Expect More; Expect the Best! LATN
My practice is a unique type of practice. I am a firm believer that 2 heads are better than one. So, I have decided to form a group network of therapists who collaborate together to provide the best services that we can offer! We do more than just one therapist can do alone. I hired a team of licensed therapists who could work together, each offering a unique perspective, training and expertise, enabling us all to be able to provide you with better trained, skilled and experienced clinicians because we cross-train each other! We discuss case issues and collaborate to offer superior services to our clientele! For example, I am the owner and director of LA Therapy Network. I am a feminist therapist, have special knowledge and experience helping women in transitions and transitional ages, am expert in the treatment of trauma and trauma related syndromes, and I have over 25 years working with alternative families, adolescents, women and various sexual and gender variant communities. I am especially knowledgeable about women's issues, sex crimes, impact of sudden deaths, teen issues and the GLBTQI communities. I am trained in the treatment of extreme forms of trauma and chronic, repeated abuse/violence. If you are a person dealing with rape, incest or sexual abuse/violence for example, I am ideal therapist to contact. However I don't have as much experience in the treatment of couples, but I do have 2 therapists who are excellent at treating couples! So, if you are a gay male couple who is seeking a sensitive therapist who has an expertise in trauma you may seek me out. I will consult with my colleagues who treat couples to ensure that I am providing you with better care. I have ready access to therapists who are more knowledgeable and thus you benefit! Whereas if I were in practice on my own, you'd be left to getting only my knowledge and you'd have to hope I knew enough about what I was doing. This is really the truth about individual private practices. A therapist only is as good as his/her training. And let’s face it, there is only so much one can focus their training on. Thus... a group network of therapists makes all of us better! I make sure that every therapist here has different training, expertise and approaches and understandings of how to help clients. That way we all benefit... and that means we can pass our skills as a team onto you! It’s like getting an entire skilled clinical team of experts in one therapist! In addition, let’s say there are situations where I want to refer you out to seek additional services. Often I am just going to refer you to another member of my team. That way you are going to get a better chance of us collaborating closely together! Not so if I were just working on my own. I'd send you out to another professional who is working solo as well. The truth is we won't talk a lot. That means you as the customer get less than ideal care. That’s the whole idea of why I formed LATN, LA Therapy Network!
