Begin a new chapter of your life
EMDR work by changing feeling states of past memory
I offer a healing warm environment utilizing the most modern methods in treatment. EMDR utilized by a well trained professional can change the quality of your life. Also I provide EEG Neurofeedback for patients with learning problems and attention issues. I have 14 years experience in the field completing my graduate work in 1999 and I am professionally trained by the Northern California Regional Coordinator for the EMDR International Association and am now a licensed trained EMDR Psychotherapist. EMDR can restructure memories creating new positive pathways resulting in decreased anxiety, improved mood and better sleep. I addition I provide a super bill for individuals with PPO or POS insurance. EMDR is brief therapy and is very powerful to change negative memories linked to undiscovered childhood trauma which feed and leads to long term anxiety and depression removing the locked dysfunctional distortion within the mind. I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy approaches. Could EMDR help me? A growing body of evidence is showing that many psychological conditions, including depression, often start with a stressful or traumatic experience. We are finding that EMDR Therapy with a Certified EMDR therapist can help significantly with symptoms of PTSD, phobias, depression, anxiety, panic, early and complex adverse experiences in childhood, and much more. It also has a strong track record for performance enhancement in a wide variety of fields — school, work, business, sales, sports, the arts, and that Most Popular Fear of All Time: public speaking.

Individual assessment, personalized treatment planning, mutual evaluation and defined goals create an effective structure to make counseling effective and goal oriented. You are an active participant in the therapy process. Gaining a clear understanding of personal, couple, family, or adolescent issues allows us to work together to determine the best treatment strategy for addressing the challenges you are facing. In some cases the need for outside services are indicated, such as medical evaluation, nutritional counseling, or additional testing. I have a highly trusted network of professionals with whom I work in a treatment team approach. You are an individual, your life is unique, we never treat you in a textbook manner.

If you are in need of counseling, coaching, or support as you address your relationships, I would love the opportunity to help you understand where you are at and assist you in getting where you want to go. I have been counseling individuals and couples for many years and have seen many make significant progress in their lives. I would enjoy meeting and working with you! Clients find "life coaching" allows them to explore their passion & to experience progress in their life now. I use tools like life mapping, passion testing, etc. to help you explore your life and future. Different from the work of a psychologist, coaching focuses on what you are called to do & how to get about it. Relationships can be challenging and sometimes you need help in developing skills to enhance communication, resolve conflict, etc. I have over 20 years experience of working with couples & individuals in helping relationships.

Sliding Scale Psychotherapy, Specializing in Mindfulness
Mindfulness increases your ability to cope. It cultivates self-compassion, non-judgment, acceptance, and awareness – all vital to healing. Mindfulness encourages perspective and flexibility, strengthening overall mental health. It allows us to live in the present moment by recognizing thought patterns, letting go of unhealthy attachments, and ultimately getting us in touch with what it means to be more fully alive. Integrative An integrative framework involves mind and body. It examines how your worldview, defense mechanisms, physical and spiritual health, culture, family roles, and larger social systems are interconnected. Personality, past experiences, and beliefs are also looked at to understand how well-being is created and maintained. Healing involves exploring and being curious about these various aspects of your life and how they interact. Therapy facilitates this journey toward health, wholeness, and peace. Wellness Focused Therapy My therapeutic approach is wellness based, stemming from Positive Psychology, which focuses on strengths and values that empower the individual. This allows for innate and organic healing processes to take place. I believe this approach, together with Mindfulness and an Integrative framework, promote insight, shift, growth and balance in a most honoring and profound way. Therapy entails venturing inward, and nurturing internal wisdom to bring about this transformation

Help for Relationship Problems, Anxiety, and Depression
Are bitter arguments killing the love and respect you once felt for each other? Are you losing sleep, crying too much, or blowing up "for no reason"? Do you yell at the kids and later berate yourself for being a "bad" parent? Chronic arguing and lack of affection can leave us feeling depressed and irritable, with no hope for the future, little energy or pleasure in daily activities, and lack of desire to move closer to the ones we love. In tough times like these, talking with an impartial person in a confidential setting can be a relief and a source of new perspective. I have helped people like you work through challenges such as marital and workplace discord, parent/child conflict, suicidal thoughts, excessive anger, low self-esteem, infidelity and broken trust, ineffective communication, suicidal thoughts, processing rape or other traumas, and adjustment to divorce, death of loved one, job loss, or return from military service.

I am a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. I find hypnosis a wonderful adjunct to quickly uncover, explore, and heal issues from past childhood trauma and experiences, present fears, and future anxieties. These issues or patterns, once helping us survive childhood, can now be making our lives unmanageable. Releasing past negative issues, whether through traditional therapy, or hypnosis, can help us reclaim our sense of trust and our ability for intimacy and sexuality without fear and guilt. I also specialize in counseling for sexual addictions. Many perceived sexual "addictions" are not really "addictions", but a result of our not being able to really connect with anybody. One way to tell if you are engaged in healthy or unhealthy sexual activity is how out of control you feel and are you causing others and yourself pain. I have been in private practice in south Orange County for 26 years. I specialize in children and adolescent therapy using play therapy, individual, and family therapy. I treat depression, anxiety, behavior problems, school problems, ADHD, and stress to name a few. I use a psychodynamic and attachment model that enables me to go beyond treating the symptoms to getting at the root cause of behavior. I firmly believe in working with the parents. If working individually with a child I believe that it is important to have periodic meetings with the parents to coach them in recommended changes, but also with them create a treatment plan and be able to follow up during treatment. My expertise in child development and attachment also enable me to work very effectively with adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, relationship problems in marriage, work, parenting, and significant relationships.

Counseling and Psychotherapy for Children, Teens and Parents
Hello. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, and their families who struggle with a variety of psychological, behavioral, academic, and relational problems. I also provide families with support for parenting, School and Special Education Consulting, Divorce, Co-Parenting and ADHD. I know that, as parents, you know your child(ren) better than anyone else, including pediatricians and clergy. You are the experts and from personal experience, I have learned that parents need to trust their instincts about their children. One of the goals in my work is to help children and teenagers realize that they can find solutions to their problems, enhance their relationships, build self-confidence, and develop a healthy sense of who they are. I have observed that when children and adolescents begin to feel good about themselves and when they realize they have options instead of limitations, their behavior mood, social, and academic functioning improve - they are happier and more resilient. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral, Family Systems and eclectic interventions with adolescents, and with pre-adolescents, play therapy, to help younger clients identify, explore, and resolve their behavioral and emotional struggles. Providing child and adolescent therapy, I have over 15 years of clinical experience with all aspects of psychological, developmental, and behavioral difficulties, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, anger, trauma, PTSD, loss, defiance, impulse control problems, ADHD, learning issues, substance use, social thinking issues and the autistic spectrum. An important part of working with children and adolescents includes working with their parents (or guardians). I provide parents with support and constructive ideas that can strengthen their effectiveness, enhance bonding between each other, and restore their sense of hope and satisfaction in the family.

Real Psychological Solutions
No one gets through the bumps of life unscathed. We all could use someone to help us through life’s ups and downs. Contemplating a change, coping with loss, eating healthy, staying fit, raising children, blending families, getting married or considering divorce are not “do-it-yourself” projects. I believe that people know intuitively when they need the help of a skilled guide but, the myths surrounding counseling can often get in their way. The truth about face-to-face and internet counseling is that it works best when you are ready. Scheduling an appointment is the first step in resolving a problem. It is not a sign of weakness and you don’t need a serious problem to benefit from counseling. People with everyday concerns such as adjustments or phase of life issues also can get results from counseling too. People who see me or seek my internet services are usually feeling stressed, stuck, anxious, depressed, lost, ashamed, guilty, or unforgiving about some portion of their lives. They are looking for lasting results, not quick fixes. I find a combination of Cognitive Behavior and Acceptance and Commitment Therapies work best, In addition, I offer nutritional, wellness and lifestyle coaching too. Remember I am only a phone call or email away.

Focus Is On the CLIENT Not the PROBLEM-
I was first trained as a behaviorist and client centered therapist and moved to a psychoanalytic approach in graduate school. I have since been exposed to many approaches of mental health treatment and theory. from Freud and Jung to New Age and Eastern Philosophies, I have developed my own sense of a Humanistic approach based on the premise that caring for the client is foremost in the treatment process. I have learned the healing relationship between therapist and client is more important then the theory or model that is being practiced, and it is also very important for the type of treatment being practiced to be consistent with the needs of the client. In other words, I don't make my client fit into my treatment approach but create an approach to meet the needs of my client. I truly believe in total acceptance and recognize that the patient has the power and responsibility to make changes required to solve problems and live a happier and contented life. I also believe that the unconscious is a powerful influence on everyone's perception of who they are and how the world responds to them. Self-discovery is part of the process, as is learning cognitive behavioral tools to resolve irrational beliefs and coping with emotions. I believe that unconscious thoughts, as well as negative or irrational beliefs play a dominate role in in the problems we face in our lives. Therapy will focus on getting in touch with one's true self and gaining a rational understanding of the motivations behind one's unhealthy behaviors and beliefs. with this understanding one begins to accept life situations for what they really mean. The process therefore develops an acceptance of the problem, increases motivation for change and instills a powerful belief and awareness that one can actually have the power to make the necessary changes that are required to solve the problems, which brought them into therapy. I have learned that the most significant factor in successful treatment of an individual is to focus on the individual and not on the problem. As I have taught my students and interns " If you focus on the problem you lose sight of the individual". No matter what problem the client brings into the therapy, the solution will be unique to the individuals experiences, skills and personal development. We have to treat the individual not the problem.

High Conflict Couples, Trauma, Marriage Friendly Therapy
I love my work as a psychologist and look forward to helping you with whatever challenges you would like to explore and resolve. I enjoy both traditional psychotherapy and coaching by telephone and e-mail. I have 20+ years in private practice as a licensed clinical psychologist. I am probably most well known for working with especially urgent, difficult, high conflict couples and for the treatment of trauma in individuals using EMDR. Couples and individuals benefit in therapy when we create a peaceful, safe haven for our work. Therapists: would you like to get 25% more income in the next 12 months, work fewer days, take more vacations and enjoy your clients more? That's what my coaching clients do and we have fun doing it. “I am very good at working with individuals, couples, families, and teenagers. My style is direct and empathic. I believe clients should get solid feedback from therapists and that the therapeutic experience is rewarding. I am primarily a cognitive-behavioral therapist but much of my work is eclectic. I like to give clients tangible, concrete tools they can walk away from each appointment. I specialize in Anger and Stress Management for adults, adolescents, couples, families, individuals, HR Managers, and employees; however, I also see clients for a variety of other reasons, particularly relationship issues, anxiety and depression.”

Who Among Us Has Not Longed to be listened to & understood?
As a Heart-Centered, Mindfulness-based Therapist, I can help
As a Heart-Centered, Mindfulness-based counselor, one of my goals is to help those I am privileged to work with, gain conscious awareness and consequently a new perspective of their lives and themselves as they currently are. Learning to view challenges as opportunities for personal growth and learning to accept "what is" in life, rather than resist, are core principles that I help facilitate my client's awareness of. The results are usually beneficial, as they decrease the amount of our internal suffering and increase inner harmony. And, since our outer experience reflects our inner reality, the benefits can also effect what and how we manifest outwardly in our lives. I specialize in working with those whose perfectionistic standards and many "shoulds" in life have caused them to judge themselves harshly, resulting in behavior patterns and emotional turmoil that have thwarted their happiness. Some treatment specialization areas I have focused on in my practice are: Healing: depression; anxiety; relationship issues; low self-esteem; addictions; co-dependency, etc. Also, marriage and couples counseling, personal growth, anger management, stress management, parental support, grief counseling, etc.
