Listen to Your Body to Connect with the Wisdom that Heals
There is a movement that is happening. It is a movement for healing that is arising from each person's soul. As a culture we have exhausted the possibilities of our individualistic/separatist concepts of life and are now awakening to the "interbeing" of all of life. Sourcing ourselves from this place of "interbeing" is the only truly sustainable way to live and yet we often feel confused about how to connect with that source. In my own life, I have found no better way to connect to this source than through the body. When we enter into the awareness of our own body, we discover the wellspring that gives our life meaning, creativity and the ability to simply be with what is. In these challenging times when the world is changing so quickly, it can be difficult to feel where our moorings are. But if we go deeply into our own felt experiences we discover the resiliency, the comfort and the wisdom to continue making our way on a path with heart. I draw from a variety of ways for accessing the body's wisdom to help guide clients to a deeper relationship with their own body. Clients learn how to release tension, align the body, listen deeply to what the body is saying, and to be present with whatever is arising (both internally and externally). Also explored are methods for self expression that help nurture and sustain a healthy, creative life. My clients are often people who are moving through some kind of healing process. Whether it is an illness, an injury, or some type of chronic pain, clients frequently come to this type of body awareness work when they have not had the physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual relief that they are seeking from other modalities such as physical therapy or psychotherapy. Physical therapy that does not take into account the psycho-emotional aspect of body symptoms can be little better than a short term fix and likewise psychotherapy that focuses only on mentally comprehending troubling issues, is missing out on the vast resources for healing that the body offers. With Movement for Healing you will reap the benefits of allowing your whole self to participate in your healing.

Professional training for yoga teachers in adaptive yoga techniques for students with multiple sclerosis. Coaching and mentoring for yoga teachers. The practice of yoga changes us. When we focus on our breath, we become aware of our breathing patterns and tensions held in the body. As we move and stretch our bodies, tensions release and we feel better. We begin to notice things that we were unaware of before. Little by little that awareness seeps into other areas of our lives. We notice how we feel when we communicate with others. Perhaps we let go of old patterns of communication because we don’t need them anymore. Or perhaps we let go of old relationships because we finally recognize how damaging they are to our health and well-being. This is how the world changes, one person at a time. When we change the way we think, we change the way we act. When we believe that the world is one family, we must act that way or be in conflict with our beliefs. When we believe that the world is one family, we take responsibility for our actions - thought, word and deed. And this is how the world changes, one person at a time. Yoga is not about the pose. It’s not about the body, mind and spirit. It’s so much more than that. Yoga is about remembering our true nature. It’s about acknowledging what is true in this moment - letting go of how we think things should be, how we want things to be. When we acknowledge our human nature with all of our flaws and imperfections, we are open to witnessing the same in others - without judgment. When we change the way we think, we change the way we act. This can transform our lives - our health, our relationships, our workplaces, our world.

Breathe. Believe. Be. Empowerment. Embodiment. Enlivenment.
Simply put, “Yoga + Therapy = Balance”. Yoga is perhaps the oldest modality of somatic psychology and it has truly stood the test of time with modern Western research suppporting its many benefits in treating a wide variety of ailments and conditions that impact our mind/body/energy/spirit. My intention for these one-on-one sessions is that you, the client, are able to establish a deeper appreciation for your TRUE SELF. My approach in Yoga Therapy is to first meet with you for an initial assessment where we discuss the presenting issue (i.e. anxiety, stress, body image, substance use, grief) and establish specific physical, emotional and energetic goals. I offer you a thorough and efficient intake health assessment before working collaboratively with you to establish goals. I treat you with full acceptance and lovingkindness. I offer you supportive coaching through Pranayama breathwork, a series of traditional poses (asana) and a final relaxation. I may recommend other traditional yoga therapy modalities that can include stress reduction techniques such as yoga nidra (see sidebar for description), guided imagery meditation and Shatkarma. A typical session is 75 minutes and that allows for time to engage in a therapeutic discussion as well as guidance and coaching around the client’s yoga practice. A typical session will also include any of the aforementioned yoga techniques, including a mindfulness breathing component and a guided deep relaxation, or yoga nidra. By combining the traditional philosophies and exercise of yoga with current evidenced-based and strengths-based psychotherapy, I encourage each client to find balance in their lives and tap into the true healing powers that reside within. I am available to support you in your life journey by providing you with an individualized YOGA routine to help you develop strength, flexibility and endurance. With over ten years of clinical experience as a clinical social worker, I offer supportive counseling to individuals, couples and families dealing with: • grief and loss • anxiety • depression • trauma • relationship issues • substance use • conscious living/mindful dying support services for terminally ill clients • other life challenges and stressors The private yoga therapy services I offer are certain to provide increased peace of mind, physical and mental flexibility and strength, muscle tone, and energy. The private sessions are for any age, any ability, ANYONE! Along with the client's feedback, you and I tailor the yoga practice and the therapeutic conversation to your personal needs and goals. Partner yoga is available for couples who want to deepen each person’s individual practice while strengthening their bond with one another.

Thai Yoga Therapy & Traditional Asian Healing Arts
Healing Therapies for Mind, Body and Spirit
Traditional Asian Bodywork Our centers specialize in traditional Asian bodywork including Shiatsu, Thai Yoga Bodywork and Chi Nei Tsang. These bodywork styles greatly complement laser-acupuncture or standard needle acupuncture and herbal medicine treatments. Chi Nei Tsang is a holistic approach to the healing touch modality of ancient Asian origin. It integrates the physical, mental, emotional aspects of our being as other modalities of Traditional Asian Medicine. CNT goes to the very origin of health problems, including psychosomatic responses and emotional "holding" patterns that are associated with the vaious organ systems and meridians of the body.. Chi Nei Tsang literally means “working the energy of the internal organs” or “internal organs chi transformation.” CNT uses all the principles of Kung (Gong) Fu and Tai Chi Chuan known as Chi-Kung (Qi Gong); therefore, CNT is a form of “applied Qi Gong.” CNT practitioners are trained in Qi Gong and work mainly on the abdomen with deep, soft and gentle touches, to train internal organs to work more efficiently. Unprocessed emotional charges are also addressed in this manner, as well as all of the body systems: digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, lymphatic, nervous, endocrine, urinary, reproductive, muscular-skeletal, and the acupuncture meridian system (Qi). Dr. McCormick combines laser acu-point therapy ("laser acupuncture") with traditional CNT treatments for enhanced therapeutic results, addressing a wide variety of health and wellness concerns. He also integrates CNT into Thai Yoga Therapy sessions performed on a floor mat through the clothing. This style of bodywork is also known as "Lazy Person's Yoga" since the client is moved passively through a variety of stretches and positions that are similar to yoga asanas. This blends Chinese and Ayurvedic healing traditions together. Dr. McCormick bring his training and over two decades of practice as a yoga instructor into this form of bodywork. Yoga is a holistic practice supporting balance, awareness, and well-being. My work focuses on traditional yoga principles, including mindful movement, breath awareness, relaxation, and meditation. Based in Rishikesh, I work with individuals seeking yoga as a supportive practice for stress management, physical comfort, and emotional balance, emphasizing consistency, simplicity, and self-awareness. Adhiroha, one of the most desirable and preferable school to learn Yoga in India. A place through which one passes always wish and wanted to be there, to live here. It is not only because of the serene location but also the energy of the place we have created pulls neither everyone nor no-one. We realise, when a person comes for a yoga in India, have different purposes. Our place is made for those who wants to understand the mind, realise the physical body and feel the emotions; experience self. So that you may slightly understand the chord which connects you to the Divine or the Supreme. For some, It is neither easy nor difficult, it is just an experience of oneness or nothingness. While for others, A knot between Who Am I & Who I Am. So we are for those who are neither seekers nor lost. But the ones who are ready to learn everything or nothing. Because for us either of the scenario is same. Sometimes our guests call us ‘A Yoga Paradise’ but we call it ‘Adhiroha', a paradise to Experience Yoga within Shiva. We appreciate the ones who are ready to be a part of this amazing yoga path. With that purpose, We always ensures and encourages our students to be absolute aware about their journey, To be clear about their purpose. With this experience you will understand neither the meaning nor the purpose of your existence or non existence. We will give you neither a feeling of convincing nor skeptical, we are experiencing a stage where we understand neither everything is right nor anything is wrong. It is just a purpose and a role of being in a circle of energies which makes life ain’t real nor a dream. Experience Adhiroha. Aum Namaha Shivaya!
