Elisabeth Coffey, LCSW, LCADC
Clinical Social Worker/Therapist
Florham Park, NJ 07932
ADOLESCENTS AND YOUNG ADULTS
FAILURE TO LAUNCH
Elisabeth Coffey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey. She frequently works with professionals, many of whom have difficulty putting down their jobs and careers when it comes to building and enjoying their personal lives. She understands that the work-life balance is very important when determining how to live the life you want, and working on living a life in line with your personal values rather than continuing along with comfortable and established routines can be challenging. She will help you sift through all of the things keeping you too busy to work on changing anything and help you figure out where you can afford to pull back and want to. Elisabeth has an office in Florham Park, NJ but can also see patients remotely. It is her goal to listen to clients, understand where they're coming from, and enable them to understand themselves, what they want that they don't have, and identify what is preventing them from achieving their goals. Elisabeth realizes that there is much distraction from what we are feeling that it is nice to schedule a time and place once a week to allow for our feelings. She strives to provide a safe place to experience those feelings and work through them. She looks forward to helping you create meaning by putting everything into words and seeing the gifts in every experience and how they have shaped you into who you are. Elisabeth has over 20 years of experience working with adolescents and families. She is licensed as an alcohol and drug counseling specialist.

Supportive Space Counseling Center
The future of mental health care.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of New Jersey as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and National Board Certified TeleMental Health provider (BC-TMH). I possess extensive experience working in the field of mental health care with adolescents, adults, and families over the last 10 years. I received my Masters degree from Monmouth University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am currently working toward obtaining my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision with a specialization in Leadership Studies. I am also the owner of Supportive Space Counseling Center, LLC., New Jersey's first entirely online outpatient counseling agency founded in 2019. I believe that psychotherapy is a unique experience. It can bring insight, relief and empowerment. We all have the intelligence and strength to work through difficult issues, but sometimes we need a little help. If you are feeling anxious, depressed, lost or alone, therapy can help you move forward. As we work together to develop a deeper understanding of your thoughts and feelings, you will be more equipped to resolve the inner turmoil and confusion which at times affects us all. Self-discovery and gaining a deeper understanding of oneself is not always easy but it can be the greatest gift you could ever give to yourself and the ones you love. As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is fulfilling and meaningful. If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals!
Beverly Amsel, Ph.D.
Mental Health Counselor/Therapist
New York, NY 10023
Experienced, Empathic Psychotherapist
I have been a psychotherapist in private practice for over 25 years. I work with individuals and couples and specialize in a wide range of treatment issues including, anxiety, depression, relationship and marriage problems. I have a particular interest in working with people who have concerns regarding intimacy and problems developing long-term relationships, separation anxiety, parenting, creative blocks, empty nest syndrome, chronic pain and family and work conflicts. I work with many young adults who struggle with transitioning into adulthood and finding their own voices. Although the idea of starting therapy can be scary, it can also be exciting. Therapy is a process of discovery about you which can help you create the life and relationships that really work. It is a process where I help you to talk and learn about your thoughts and feelings. As we focus on the issues you bring to therapy, our talks will affect the ways in which you relate to the world and the impact the world has on you. My clinical approach is not based on one particular theory. I don’t see what I do as “one size fits all.” As I get to know you, the theoretical approach or approaches I take will evolve from our work together. I recognize and respect how different we all are. This means I make a particular effort to work without judgment. I am available for sessions in my office or on the phone.

Understand yourself better, become more free and fulfilled
My practice is trauma-focused, psychodynamic and relational
As your therapist, first and foremost I will respect the courage of your decision to seek therapy and create a foundation of safety, acceptance, and collaboration. I strongly believe that symptom reduction (e.g., anxiety, panic, constant worrying, depression, high stress levels, complex PTSD), and an exploration of the root causes of your most distressing problems are both vital aspects of a helpful therapeutic experience. I foster a therapeutic relationship that honors my clients’ conscious minds as well as feelings, symptoms, and behaviors that they may find confusing and painful, but may be clues to presenting problems. I also consider my clients' current life situations holistically, collaborating with them to explore physical, nutritional, general life style, social support, and self-regulation issues to find areas of resilience as well as those that could be strengthened. Presently, I work with late teens and adults of all ages. I work with clients who struggle with symptoms which may be the aftermath of loss, abuse or other difficult experiences, or are simply perplexed with why they repeat distressing patterns which cause them pain. My clients may enter therapy to explore "why they have such difficulty regulating their emotions", or, "why they continue to pursue relationships that are ultimately painful", or, "why it's so hard to feel anything"; they may also enter therapy to receive assistance with specific issues such as life transitions, relationship difficulties, and work or academic problems. I also specialize in the impact of past and current interpersonal trauma or loss on parenting capacities, and assist my clients when these experiences interfere with being loving and supportive parents in the present. My work blends relational psychotherapeutic approaches, trauma-focused assessment and treatment, and psychoeducation for both clients and their families where appropriate. My trauma studies, which included EMDRIA-approved advanced EMDR training, as well as principles of Internal Family Systems and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, have solidified my longstanding belief that therapy must often go beyond talk and attend to messages from our physical selves that may provide clues to where we are most "stuck". While I have been trained in several modalities and my approach is eclectic, I will meet you where you are presently to address the problems that are most distressing to you.
